Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

The actual use of the tunneling machine confuses me though. Based on the 2012 scene, the quantum suits and time GPS straps were all that were needed to jump through time-space.

What was the machine for? To provide coordinates for the return? If so, how did old Cap get there if the Russos' explanation that Cap lived his life in an alternate timeline/universe is to be believed?

I do get that the machine can be used to pull back a time traveller (like they did with Hawkeye's test run or Thanos" ship) though.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

How many post 1977 directors are known for having 4 or more great crowd pleasing genre movies under their belts?

Keep that art house crap out of here lol.

Ok lets start with the Russos they have 4 wildly entertaining movies!

Cameron (T1/T2/Aliens/TrueLies/Avatar)

Spielberg (JAWS/Raiders/Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom / Indianan Jones and the Last Crusade/ ET/ Minority Report/ Ready Player One/ CloseEncounters/SavingPrivateRyan/JP)

McTiernan (Predator/DieHard/DieHard3/HuntRedOctober)

Verhoeven (Robocop/TotalRecall/StarshipTroopers) Sorry only 3!

Sorry John Milius fans but he doesn’t have 4, does he?

Jackson (LOTR trilogy) but still only 3!

Lucas (ANH/HowardtheDuck/RedTails/RadiolandMurders)....lol

Russo’s have really joined quite an exclusive club and that’s not even counting the box office club

Man you missed a Few Spielberg movies. Even if you are not a huge fan of some.. If you are going to allow Hunt for Red October, Die Hard 3, True Lies, type films you better include the films I bolded above :)

I want to pose this question to JAWS.

JAWS are are you listening lol

Had Hulk not snapped everybody back what would’ve happened to Cap once Thanos arrived and took IM and Thor out of the game.

Not sure where this question is coming from. I have stated that it either should have been Captain Marvel or still The Hulk.

My argument a few pages back was that Hulk in the Avengers film is not just mindless and could have been talked into putting on the glove to save people.

I never said the snap shouldn't have happened. If could have also been Professor Hulk and then as a consequence of the gamma had real hulk come out and join the team and Fight Thanos Henchman or Help defeat Thanos himself.. I am sure the writers are imaginative enough to make the battle work with a Hulk in the middle of it..

Comic books have been doing it for years. :)

Question 2: Is 5 years too long a period of time to expect a rematch?

First off.. It was never going to be a true rematch anyways.. That Thanos is dead. 2nd.. Hell no... It was only a year to the viewer... I think if everyone can except time travel / alternate realities / Fat Thor's --- Then they could accept a five year in the making rematch..

Or as I have said from the beginning.. It does not have to be a fight with Thanos.

Just about anything would have been better then what they did.

Also I really hope that whenever somebody comes to you to whine about their personal problems you answer back with:

“B**** please didn’t you see what they did to Hulk in EG!”

Already did.. Said it too my friend who found out his grandmother died.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Also including these again because they cover my feeling about everything pretty well with regards to how hulk was handled or could have been handled

Its like nobody has been watching the movies.

1. A1 Hulk is plenty strong and keeps it together enough to a) Work with a Team 2) Take orders from Cap 3) Save Iron Man 4) Take the stairs :lol

2. In AOU he flew a ****ing quinjet :lol

3. In Thor 3 He stopped fighting a monster when to by Thor and Did not attack Loki.

So I think Convincing the classic Hulk to put on a Glove and snap his fingers to save people would not have been an issue at all.
Getting him to think about bringing all the people back.. Now that may have been an issue. :lol

So I believe a Classic Hulk could have been used.. A hulk under a bit more of Banner control.

I agree that a Professor Hulk getting in some licks would have been good if he was the professor Hulk from the comics.. But this was green Banner with a gimp arm :lol

As for Hulk raging out and fighting the Avengers.. When the theory was that perhaps Thanos would be stopped halfway through and then a "WWH" type movie might happen then yeah..

But this movie was about Tony's death.. No other way to tell the story.. But it could have been done with Classic Hulk.. If that Glove was giving off Gamma and with Hulks healing powers.. It should not have been an issue.. But you know... Russo's gotta Russo the hulk :lol

Jye, Jye, Jye… I remember when you were team Khev for TLJ

And then he left you..

When will you learn

:lol

As for nobody complaining. I have talked to a lot of people who where surprised by the lack of Hulk.

And as the hype has worn off there are more and more YouTube videos f people complaining.. Granted its only youtuber opinion but they are getting lots of hits which makes me think people are looking.. Like Me :lol

Plus there are plenty on this thread alone that say it was handled poorly or at least could have been handled better

The Arc of the Hulk was handled off screen and discussed in a diner... That's bad writing and a dumb idea.

Oh Well. It is what it is.. Hope Marvel does right by Hulk... But I really think his Toxic Masculinity is just too much for the Disney brand. :lol

Khev mentioned that the best way to have handled the Hulk in AEG was to have Professor hulk get some time to shine in the final battle.

It might have helped me in the moment.. But again this is not the Hulk in EG.. Its not Professor Hulk either.

The Hulk was killed off with no fanfare. Tony's death meant something, Black Widow's Death meant something, the aging of Cap meant something, but the death of the hulk.. Nothing.

Again if they handled the Hulk in this film like the comic version I may not be so frustrated.. But there was no sign of the hulk in this film..

Seriously look at the photos below and compare.. Banner really just looks like a large bodybuilder or WWE performer. Nothing was left of the hulk other then his green skin. There was no merge of Banner and Hulk.. The best of both worlds just did not happen.

I am about done with complaining as I know it changes nothing and even the fans of the film feel Hulk was short changed and feel bad for the hulk fans out there... I am sure I will have a rebuttal or two as Khev, Jye, Wor, Clown or someone else will force me to :lol.. But
If this is it for the Hulk then I just got to say RIP Hulk... We hardly knew ya.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

I think they’ve could’ve incorporated Hulk into the confrontation with Thanos at the garden ... thought having Hulkbuster show up again was unnecessary.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Well my point was that Hulk saved Cap’s ass because had he not snapped Cap was done!

But that’s ok you may continue on your path to the darkside lol

When I think of finger snap I think of these 2 lol

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

I think that a nice makeup victory for the Hulk in AEG would have been to have one of the Black Order about to take out Valkyrie while Thor watched but then have Hulk jump in and mercilessly beat him down. That could have been a nice reversal of Hulk not successfully saving Loki's life while Thor watched in IW.

Maybe even have Hulk snap the BO guy's neck or something while Thanos watched to return the favor.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

If an extended cut was ever desperately needed in the MCU this would be the one to do it on and for Hulk purposes only.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Thinking more about it, yes I totally buy that Cap was able to lift the hammer in Age of Ultron and chose not to. If he wasn't worthy it wouldn't have budged at all. Can you be 25% worthy so that you can nudge it but not actually pick it up? Seems a bit silly. The elevator joke later on was just him playing along with the banter.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Well my point was that Hulk saved Cap’s ass because had he not snapped Cap was done!

So you are trying to give Green Banner a Win?

Meh.. That is the whole "Green Banner saved half the Universe so he got a moment to shine" argument.

1. You have to do a bit of mental gymnastics to give him the win because it was done with such little dramatic payoff.

2. So I am supposed to be happy that Green Banner (Not Hulk) snapped his fingers so Cap could be the coolest superhero ever at the expense of seeing my fav Marvel hero be reduced to absolute nothing in the biggest comic movie of all time. :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol :lol.... I don't think so :lol

Hulk should have put the glove on one hand and snapped everyone back to life.. Then put it on the other (it could happen, its Stark tech) and snap Thanos and his army dead and then Punch cap so hard it knocked him back into the 40's :)

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

If an extended cut was ever desperately needed in the MCU this would be the one to do it on and for Hulk purposes only.

Yeah.. But no extended cut can save the character in this film.. It would have to be an actual reshoot. :(

Ya know Hulk is the one character that is pretty famous for fighting himself in the comics, in the story Future Imperfect.

But the Russo's even had to give that to Cap.

Damn it I use to love Cap!!!

:lol :lol

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Jeez I feel for you. If they disrespected spidey on any level more than they did already I’d be pissed

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

you can clearly see Hulk smashing a ship nose first and flinging an alien into the air right before Giantman punches that ship.

I have seen him throwing the alien.. Still don't see smashing a ship nose.

Besides that's background noise.. Not a superhero moment :(

Then what? He still has to stand up to Thanos to redeem himself. Tony, Cap, Thor, CM, SWitch, nebula and Dr Strange all lasted longer against Thanos. :lol

I did not need a Hulk vs Thanos.. 1st I needed the Hulk.. And then have the hulk fight anyone :(

I am just going to repost the following ever time for my go too argument regarding Hulk.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

I think I am going to fianlly see this again on Tuesday.. One thing I am wondering about that my friend (Who was much happier with the movie then I was) agreed with me about..

Was anyone else here kinda disappointed with the final battle location? It did not Grad me like Wakanda or Titan. For all the cast that was there it somehow felt small.

I am not sure if its because the location was not really established.. I know its the Avengers headquarters but after its destroyed it just feels like a dirty whole in the ground.

The scene is a bit dark... Perhaps that gives it its smaller feel.. IDK

and Finally there are quiet moments.. where everything gets quiet so you can hear the characters have their dramatic moment while a war is going on.. Spidey and Tony's Hug moment and Star Lord and Gamora nut cracking moment.

It had some Awesome "individual" moments but as a whole I did not think it stood up to some of Marvels best scenes..

This is what sucks about being frustrated about the Hulk.. Everyone will assume that its just my frustration but like I said.. My friend thought the same thing and watching clips on youtube has not changed my mind about the look and feel of the final battle.

Will have to see with second viewing were I pretend the hulk never ever existed in the MCU :lol

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

No, Hulk beating anyone has no weight or importance. Hulk's most memorable moments were against, Thor, Loki, Ultron, Hulkbuster, the giant dog and giant demon thing in Thor 3. All big names. We've seen him beat menions, random aliens, ultron robots....it means nothing. It had to be Thanos. No one else. It was Thanos who embarrassed him and emasculated him. Before IW came out, I predicted that Thanos would beat Hulk the same way Hulk beat Loki, just to make the point that Thanos was on another level. I was fine with it and was actually looking forward to it. I didn't expect it to happen in the first 5 minutes or for Hulk to hide for the rest of the film tho. I also expected and wanted to see an enraged powered Hulk in EG give Thanos a fight, kind of like Thor and Cap. I thought there was going to be a moment where the big four would gang up on Thanos taking turns hitting him, slowly breaking him down, his confidence tested, and ultimately, getting the gauntlet off by breaking his arm. That would have made more sense to me than Tony stealing the stones Bugs Bunny style and Thanos not feeling the connection to the stones going away. :lol

I also think the Russo bros like Bruce Banner more than the monster Hulk. Clearly they got rid of Hulk in IW as quickly as possible and used Banner for the rest of the film instead. It's obvious that they find Bruce more interesting and compelling than a big dumb monster. It's why they used Proffesor Hulk instead. The most obvious moment that tells you how the Russo bros truly feel about the classic Hulk is when they time travel, and the first thing they see is classic Hulk trashing a car by jumping on it like a mindless baby, and what is Proffesor Hulk's reaction? He was embarrassed. That's the Russo Bro using that character as their avatar. They much rather use Banner, but they had to compromise, because they know that people don't give a rat's ass about Banner, so they made him big and green, "the best of both words." We know better tho.

Even John Campea is talking about it. I think the lack of Hulk and payoff for the character will hurt the film in retrospect, once the hype is gone.
