Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Friends of mine worked on a film with Hayek years ago -- apparently, she wasn't very nice or well-liked on set. :dunno

Other celebrities I've met or who've had close contact with friends in the industry, have been super chill and great people, but Hayek and Ron Perlman not so much.

Ron pearlman is mean?

I'm going tonight for my 9th theatrical viewing, and the rational part of me (buried DEEP) realizes that I shouldn't be this excited about that, but I am. To be fair, I haven't seen it in a week, so I'm overdue.

My fandom for just about anything could never match you guys. A single theatrical viewing is enough for me even when I loved the film. It'll take me a few years to have seen Endgame 9 times :lol

Saw it twice in one evening (sort of by accident -- I would have seen it twice anyway, but in one night is pretty heavy for me) -- I will definitely watch it again at home maybe a couple of times over time, and after my third viewing will likely just skim it for favourite parts, or have it on in the background from time to time. That's how I treat most films.

On second thoughts I'm not really one to talk. For me my most extreme fandom just manifests differently. I've got 6 million T-800 figures.

Bruce Willis tried to pick up a friend of mine in LA. She shot him down. :lol

My nephew and I have made a ritual of doing this for all of the MCU films. We see the first showing on preview night in 3D IMAX (usually 7:00 PM), go across the street for food, and then come back and see it again in regular 2D. We've done this with every MCU film (and the new Star Wars movies) since the first Guardians of the Galaxy. For that one, it happened more spur-of-the-moment. We saw it first in regular 2D and were so blown away by it, that we walked out and bought tickets for the 10:30 IMAX showing.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

I've only seen Endgame twice.

The second time was I able to - not set aside the things I dislike, completely - but just take in the movie in its entirety and catch everything. I enjoyed it more the second time, even though the major things I disliked - Thor/lack of Loki, Falcon Cap and the general waste of Bucky and Steve/Bucky's relationship (central to ALL 3 of Cap's films), and the writing/handling of Hulk/lack of payoff for Hulk, are still there and aren't going anywhere. My mind wasn't changed on any of that, though I suppose a potential Thor 4 might mitigate some of my issues with the lack of a good "culmination arc" for Thor.

Setting aside those things, I genuinely enjoy much of the rest of the movie. We're plan on seeing it a 3rd time this weekend, and that will be it for me.

I like the idea of Cap being worthy in AOU. I never much cared for some of the spec I've seen that he was only worthy post CW cause of Tony's parents and Bucky.

Especially since Steve was hardly withholding that information in order to maliciously deceive Tony. We was protecting both Bucky and Tony by not saying anything. It's not like Tony ever asked him "Did Bucky kill my parents" and then Steve openly lied about it either.

I liked the moment with Tony and Howard watching again , especially what Tony thought how his dad was in MCU history , when in fact we got to see how Howard was nervous having a child

It was the closure Tony needed before of course his death IMO

And I didn’t realize that Bucky felt he knew that it was right to tell Sam to go to Old Steve in the ending scene. In a way, it seemed liked Bucky was finally at peace with himself

Brilliant directing by the Russo’s :hi5:
