Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

What about Nat from 2012, could they bring her to the present :dunno

I mean with cap going back and living with peggy, Loki getting away with the tesseract, past thanos and co. leaving his timeline and dying, past nebula getting killed by current nebula...

What more could go wrong bringing her back? :lol

Unlike Gamora, 2023 Nat and 2012 Nat aren’t really that different (other than her hair color over the years). The only thing is her feelings for Bruce :dunno

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

A current caring Thanos beat the crap out of Hulk in IW , no way Professor Hulk stood a chance against past warrior Thanos :lecture

Lol that thanos was definitely more lax and didn’t want to kill anybody just subdue. 2014 thanos must of just went through a bad breakup

Which scene implied Clint and Natasha were romantic with each other? I took away that they were really good friends, but nothing else really.

The hulk/widow romance did drop off, but honestly I think that's for the best. That whole thing kinda came out of nowhere with AOU. Which as a film didn't really do great things for her character in general.

Definitely agree that an emotional bookend for Banner was needed and would have helped his story feel complete though. Wonder if we'll see him again anytime soon. Would love to see him interact with the fantastic four whenever they get brought in.

The death scene. The whole point of the soul stone was to sacrifice the one you loved most.
Clint was married , so how can BW be the one he loved most?

Unless the implied is the “one left alive” you love most?

And BW was suppose to be in love with Banner? Unless that was a BW ruse to control him....

I wish that the Russo’s filmed a deleted sequence with Evans and Atwell that will be in the blu ray called “ the new married life of Steve and Peggy “ . Now the Russo’s are saying that everything was originally scripted in the facts leading to Steve being Peggy’s real husband and having children as it was revealed in TWS :horror

The Russos aren't saying that the writers are. Joe Russo says his take is that Cap was in an alternate timeline. Markus and McFreely think he's in the same timeline and that Peggy's kids were always his. The movie itself doesn't clarify so everybody gets to decide for themselves. I see it as like Total Recall, you can make a case that Quaid really did everything in the movie and you can make a case that it's all just the implanted memory that he paid for in the first place. Regardless of which side the writers or Verhoeven might be on you still get to interpret it the way that you want and I see AEG the same way.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

I had no expectations that EG was going to do that to me, knock the TROS / Mando wind right out of my sails, but it did!

Sure some of it has to do with IX / Mando feeling like they’re so far away but i’m impressed by EG because the TROS trailer and Mando footage were pretty damn good.

You and I are pretty hardcore SW diehards so eventually we’ll be right back into the swing of things but for now i’m all about celebrating not just EG but IW and the MCU as a whole and diverting my full attention to Spiderman FFH and not SW.

Speaking of Spiderman FFH i’m blown away that Marvel is giving us a true immediate epilogue to EG just 3 months after EG and since phase 4 hasn’t even been announced yet it instantly makes Spiderman FFH a must see event of its own because of its proximity to EG.

Think about it we are getting more EG story in the same freaking summer!

:rock :rock

And I know I'll get my SW mojo back I always do but it's crazy that even watching the TROS teaser before EG I really feel almost no excitement for it right now. But back when those clips were first revealed last month I was kind of getting meh on the MCU and just wanted it wrapped up before being utterly blown away by AEG so hopefully TROS (or at the very least The Mandalorian) can accomplish even a fraction of that.

I choose to believe the alternate timeline and hope to everything marvel that they make a series with cap and peggy's life together throughout the years.

I’ve been out of HT/SS 1/6 collecting for a while now but I couldn’t live with myself if I didn’t own the HT Cap / HT Armored Thanos from EG that’s how much this movie impacted me.

To have them facing each other will just be epic truly one of the best scenes in movie history for me.

There is no shame saying that the BIG Cap scene in this movie is easily up there with best that cinema has to offer.

Now the year wait for their arrival. :thud:

Cap facing Thanos, the marching legions, spider tanks, flying Leviathans, etc., all by himself literally had me thinking "so here it is, the big death that the MCU has been building to is finally here," and then to have Sam's line, the portals opening and "Avengers Assemble," ............. :thud:

Could not have been more blown away. It was perfect.

Wouldn't it betray their own rules of time travel if it was always Steve who married Peggy and had kids with her. That would be changing the past and affecting your own timeline, no? Or something. I don't know.

I'm in a similar boat as you two. I'm a huge MCU fan, and that fandom has only been growing over the years, but I've been a Star Wars fan for my entire life. Going into 2019, I kind of broke it down that the first six months would be for the MCU and the second half of the year for Star Wars. And, I'm positive as we get closer to The Mandalorian and TROS, that's definitely going to be the case. But damn, if Endgame doesn't cast a massive shadow. I hope to enjoy the Star Wars offerings at year end, but Endgame totally blew me away. Due to the near perfection of Infinity War, I went into Endgame with nearly unachievable expectations, but not only did the movie meet them, it somehow exceeded them. If Star Wars even comes close to this, it will be one hell of a year for me.

I think it's like Terminator, it doesn't break the rules in my mind if the MCU as we know it was always an alternate timeline in the first place. At least after the events of TFA and going forward. For Terminator we assume that there was an "original timeline" John Connor who then got erased when Reese impregnated Sarah. We never saw her life in the original timeline after 1984 and everything going forward was a circle with Reese creating John and then John sending his dad back in time.

But in the MCU we can speculate (just for the fun of it, nothing more) that Peggy was married to her work and never loved anyone after Steve before dying old and alone. Her as a 50 year old in 1970 with a picture of Steve on her desk even supports this. So Steve goes back in time, marries her, changes the first timeline where she never had kids and then creates his own kids that his future self later sees in the new timeline which is the timeline the entire MCU takes place in going forward.

Or maybe simply having kids with a woman who would have been otherwise childless is *not* enough to create an alternate reality and that alternate realities are only created when the Stones are directly involved (like removing them from that reality entirely.) Fun stuff to ponder.

Perfectly put, I agree on all counts! :rock
