Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

:hi5:

Now that the MCU is giving us a live action multiverse that cartoon is useless for me lol

Hey did you notice that the IS Cap has a similar stance to SS first ever Cap! :rock

:rock :rock

I had the original EX PF........twice. It kept doubling in price so I kept selling it, lol.

Yeah did you hear that JAWS, Buff, Clown and Chew...

:chase

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Poor JW wouldn’t stand a chance with my IG that included Die Hard 1, Predator 1, Aliens, Robocop 1, Road Warrior and Conan 1 (almost went with First Blood)!

Oh man JW would be dust in the wind.

Oh nice IG of films..

Personally I just cant add films like ALIENS, Robocop, Conan, and Predator to the Action Gauntlet because I consider them all parts of a different genre.. I guess its why I always say it must be really hard to make a truly great action film because there really are not that many great straight up action movies.

Hell I always put Raiders in my top 3 and some people say that that is more of an Adventure movie then action..

Just saw JW3 very underwhelmed with it. Killing people in the middle of crowded grand central station and no one notices anything? Come on!

My friend and I Laughed at that.. I guess you just have to accept that we are in an alternate graphic novel universe.. And you can either role with it or go watch EG again :lol

Seriously. As I was watching Wick kill an army of men for the tenth time I started to think “I wonder if Endgame next door has any seats available?”

Did you watch the first two? I mean.. What were you expecting? :lol

It does look that way doesn’t it lol

Pretty cool unintended depth of field illusion.

Who’s the coolest dad!

Those are really yours Jye? Including the kid? :lol

Nice.. For some reason I didn't think you got into statues.. Thought it was just Hot Toys and Godzilla items.

If you ever start thinking that the price for the IS Cap is crazy just remember that people are paying $500 for Comicave’s 1/12 scale Hulkbuster! :thud:

That being said, man is that IS Cap price crazy lol

I agree with you about the action category, Die Hard is the only movie on my list that is similar to JW.

Yup that’s my stuff and yes also my son lol

That’s a custom unlicensed Hulk from asia (where else) next to the PF.

Hollow very light but bad ass nonetheless.

Ok Khev.. Done talking about JW..

So this whole "Filmed a Hulk moment scene but took it out"

What the hell? I mean really.. WHAT THE HELL?

Perhaps I could have bought into the Green Banner a little more if I saw him do some truly Hulk like things..

I seriously vomit in my mouth a little when Green Banner goes out and reluctantly hits the car, throws the motorcycle, and give the half hearted roar.. Part of it is because at that very moment it is the true emasculation of the Hulk and the other is I think the joke really falls flat.. Like one of the MCU worst jokes.. Its just goofy and really no reason for it when nobody is around to see it and the real hulk was just there.. Dumb.

Anyways.. Would like to see anything "Hulk" related added back into the film.

I assume that he was just getting in a few "practice" roars before going out where people *would* be seeing him. It also seemed a callback to Banner's fake roar when trying to lift the hammer in your favorite MCU movie. ;)

I agree with you about the action category, Die Hard is the only movie on my list that is similar to JW.

When I do my action top 10 its like I can get to number 5 and then I struggle.

Die Hard, Raiders of the Lost Ark, First Blood, Lethal Weapon, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.... And then it gets tuff.. I love some of the Mission Impossible movies but they are nowhere close to my top 5 I just listed. So I feel weird adding them. As much as I love The Raid.. Its not in the same Category either.. Maybe I need to start blending the genres :lol

Yes I have seen the Asian Hulk before.. Considered it once or twice.. Mad the mistake of selling my OG Hulk back in the day.. But Needed a new TV

Nice looking son you have there.

He looks to have some ethnicity in him.. Is that from you or mom?

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

I agree with JAWS that it’s the emasculation of the toxic Hulk but it goes with the Banner character from the comics so it’s not a Disney agenda eliminating a toxic male to piss off men.

Banner’s struggle with suppressing the Hulk is core to Hulk’s origins!

Suck it up JAWS lol

That would be like Khev complaining that Disney is making Cap a goody two shoe lol

That is what I assume.. But I hate it nonetheless..

Well that's perfect because I hate that moment also...

However why was he so much better at roaring as just Banner then he is when he is supposed to be the "Best of Both Worlds."

I better stop or I am going to start hating on EG again :lol

Oh I was not putting a Disney political agenda on Hulk.. Not at all.. Its just at that moment you could see his ball drop out of his pants.. I cant imagine the amount of time it took the CGI guys to do it... But there they were.. Lying on the street.. Green, shriveled, and sad..

Banner in the comics is not as much of a puss as Ruffalo's Banner has become..

I thought A1 and A2 nailed Banner. He has gotten more pathetic and sillier as the films have gone on..

I'm not even sure to post this one-of-many outraged Hulk vids but towards the end I think there MIGHT be some light at the end of the tunnel re Hulk:

IMO this guy also touches on a personal theory of mine - that Disney is really made up of scheming Dark Lords:cool: and one day there will be an explosive expose.

Tho can't be sure and who knows maybe the Russos had a brain meltdown, because like many fans and even media I can't deal with the sidelining of Cap/Falcon/Bucky:mad::mad::mad:. H&ll they couldn't even have Bucky, Falcon, and SW pop out of the portal first *agenda* never mind the BS back in IW. Not so much the Cap shield thing, but the utter BS of not having any even short interaction between Bucky and - anyone.

Never mind the complete waste of one of Marvel's best fighters AND a super soldier:mad:; never mind making Banner downright fumbling and goofy.

Which, I'm gonna guess, to some - or to a large degree - is evil Marvel taking the long road making sure those dollars keep rolling in.:devil They d@mn well have made sure that character-time-hungry fans of Bucky, Falcon, Loki, and SW will be frantic to sign up for that streaming service $$$$$ and even openly talk about TV/Movie crossovers. They've made sure they've got a "redemption" or whatever arc set in place for Thor - where he has some revelation or whatever and becomes god-king again. Same is true for Hulk.

IMO it's just Marvel hedging its bets, one way or the other. Ruthless fan manipulation esp. w. RDJ stepping out of the picture, except probably for some "multiverse" cameo like Thor w. his father (which actually I thought was pretty well done, thanks to awesome Anthony Hopkins).

So, like, if BP 2 becomes been there, done that (conveniently if needed, Bucky ISN'T Captain America, so he's in place to do a cameo as well); and the Eternals are a bore; or CM keeps getting rolled over by her cat; you've got established fan favorites in place to do some padding at the BO. Including Hulk.

IMO smart business strategy BUT it does affect scripts/direction:(. It's not like early MCU when directors were given a LOT of freedom and maybe Marvel was willing to take some risks. Now STUDIO AGENDA keeps popping up like that lame girl power EG scene:pfft:. Back around TWS, there was no way I'd have thought the Russos would incorporate something so weak; they were the guys that picked and picked at their movies TRYING at least to bring some logic and flow to the films.

The worst thing is, for me it's working for now:banghead. At least to a degree, tho I blew off CM and didn't see either IW or EG as much as I thought I would in theater. But guess Disney isn't gonna miss a few bucks from me. Right now tho I don't listen to Feige & co. so much any more; I think it's all PR and the company line. Esp. Feige seems like he'll say anything.

I just got done watching that very video..

IDK and we will see.. Ruffalo having so much input worries me TBH..

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

And could you guys please stop talking about John Wick 3 in this thread? I'd like to watch the movie before seeing it openly discussed in non-JW threads.

:hi5:

Yeah did you hear that JAWS, Buff, Clown and Chew...

:chase

Ok Khev.. Done talking about JW..

So now that we've got this thread back on track, about that final John Wick battle...:banana

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

*Gloomily* Yeah. There's that. I thought I remember Ruffalo really wanting to work with Whedon more re getting more "sensitive" or some ^%%$#.

Don't get me wrong, I love Ruffalo's Hulk; but what I really like is the more haunted, fantastically intelligent Banner combined with the HULK "puny God".

I don't know how much an actor can affect what directors or writers are doing (unless you are RDJ.:lol) And still not sure how I feel about SO MUCH Professor Hulk - it's not dislike, exactly. It's that through End Game the image of dock workers or something in New York kept popping into my head, like Rocky Balboa was going to show up or something - re the portrayal:panic:. *Baffling*.

I didn't even like that they didn't give a bit more time to let it sink in the A1 connection to EG - that Hulk kept Banner alive for a purpose. It's not that it should have been pounded into folks' heads; just that IMO that could have been added to, just a bit. That's kind of been something of an interesting thread through all these films, whether "good guys" (IM) or characters who have done some dark stuff (BW, Hulk, WS, SW). "I shouldn't be alive, but it must be for a reason". Tho honestly with that many movies don't know if the changing writers give that idea much thought or think that DEEP about stuff.:dunno

I mean in the sense when it's REALLY deep; like when Gandalf tells Frodo he is meant to have the Ring and there are other forces in play, more or less. E.g. in comics the universe balances itself:dunno, so ultimately Thanos was wrong and Gamora was right "you don't know that".

But gonna stop thinking now 'coz I gotta do stuff before GOT comes on and I get to watch more writers p&ss off the fanbase.:monkey3

So now that we've got this thread back on track, about that final John Wick battle...
:lol

Haven't seen it yet - was it done with sensitivity or are we talking Kill Bill #1?
