I'm not even sure to post this one-of-many outraged Hulk vids but towards the end I think there MIGHT be some light at the end of the tunnel re Hulk:
IMO this guy also touches on a personal theory of mine - that Disney is really made up of scheming Dark Lords
and one day there will be an explosive expose.
Tho can't be sure and who knows maybe the Russos had a brain meltdown, because like many fans and even media I can't deal with the sidelining of Cap/Falcon/Bucky
. H&ll they couldn't even have Bucky, Falcon, and SW pop out of the portal first *agenda* never mind the BS back in IW. Not so much the Cap shield thing, but the utter BS of not having any even short interaction between Bucky and - anyone.
Never mind the complete waste of one of Marvel's best fighters AND a super soldier
; never mind making Banner downright fumbling and goofy.
Which, I'm gonna guess, to some - or to a large degree - is evil Marvel taking the long road making sure those dollars keep rolling in.
They d@mn well have made sure that character-time-hungry fans of Bucky, Falcon, Loki, and SW will be frantic to sign up for that streaming service $$$$$ and even openly talk about TV/Movie crossovers. They've made sure they've got a "redemption" or whatever arc set in place for Thor - where he has some revelation or whatever and becomes god-king again. Same is true for Hulk.
IMO it's just Marvel hedging its bets, one way or the other. Ruthless fan manipulation esp. w. RDJ stepping out of the picture, except probably for some "multiverse" cameo like Thor w. his father (which actually I thought was pretty well done, thanks to awesome Anthony Hopkins).
So, like, if BP 2 becomes been there, done that (conveniently if needed, Bucky ISN'T Captain America, so he's in place to do a cameo as well); and the Eternals are a bore; or CM keeps getting rolled over by her cat; you've got established fan favorites in place to do some padding at the BO. Including Hulk.
IMO smart business strategy BUT it does affect scripts/direction
. It's not like early MCU when directors were given a LOT of freedom and maybe Marvel was willing to take some risks. Now STUDIO AGENDA keeps popping up like that lame girl power EG scene
. Back around TWS, there was no way I'd have thought the Russos would incorporate something so weak; they were the guys that picked and picked at their movies TRYING at least to bring some logic and flow to the films.
The worst thing is, for me it's working for now
. At least to a degree, tho I blew off CM and didn't see either IW or EG as much as I thought I would in theater. But guess Disney isn't gonna miss a few bucks from me. Right now tho I don't listen to Feige & co. so much any more; I think it's all PR and the company line. Esp. Feige seems like he'll say anything.
