the steering look a bit cheap.[/QUOTE]

agreed- odd since instrument panel so nice-.
In hand hopefully it'll look nicer.

I understand the nit- pick starting on this already- big chunk of change- but really overall it looks just incredible.

Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

I figured out what I'm going to do for having a "Batman" driver in there...one of my old Takara Begins Batmen wearing DX09's cowl and symbol with a Tony cape, will be both flexible and thin enough to easily sit in there and have the details of his suit obscured enough by the DX09 parts and Tony cape that it will be passable for a seated "Keaton" Batman.

Was dreaming HT should have included an upper torso only DX09 to fit in the seat- you know, just to see him sitting pretty. Probably would have added $100 to price though!!:lol

They could have kept that shield and included the torso instead. :slap

yeah but the shield only is a $3.75 piece of vacuform, they saved us money!!!:lol

Shield does not bother me a bit- I bought this for the BATMOBILE, don't care about the shield except use as a dust cover.

Because it cost so much, starting to have this thought we are paying for the size?

Yes we are in the major way- HT details the stuff them deem neccesary, the rest not so much

I know. The shield isn't a huge deal but its just one of those things where you want everything top notch for what you're spending. Sort of like figures with tons of accessories you know you'll never utilize but you just like knowing you got them. :lol

I see.

Btw, I'll take a pic of this Batmobile next to the Millenium Falcon.

Now that you mention it it's unbelievable that the Master Replica Millenium Falcon is "only" 32" long vs Batmobile being 39" :panic:

Well then that explains it. The MR Falcon was shipped in a HUGE box and weighed a ton. Course it had an acrylic display case for it but can anybody remember what the approximate shipping was on that thing WAY back in like 2007?

Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

:horror:horrorAccording to this MRMF weights in at 93lbs shipping weight :horror:horror

Yeah that's the acrylic display case adding to the weight. Imagine what shipping would be on the Batmobile had HT included one. :horror

If I remember correctly, wasn't the shipping included in the the $2199 MSRP or was it additional?

The after burners/exhaust actually light (with LEDs). That's pretty damn impressive.

REALLY looking forward to this.

I've been working on a built-in-the-wall display for this car since it was first announced. I'm getting close to finalizing the project - just a few more finishing touches needed at this point.

The Porsche in the picture is the stand-in I've been using until the Batmobile arrives... it is approximately the same height as the Batmobile (according to the stated specs). As far as length and width, the pink piece of foam board under the Porsche is cut to the dimensions given in the official specs for the 1/6 scale Batmobile.

I wanted an industrial/alley feel for the display. The picture looks a little more purple than it looks in reality. The lighting I'm using looks a bit more blue in person.

Can't wait until this arrives!

The Tumbler is far better than this POS!!!

Tumbler

- Opening hatch with poorly sculpted, undetailed interior with exposed wiring

- Movable trigger

- Front lights

- foldable/breakable panels

Batmobile

- Two pop up machine guns

- ejecting disks

- grappling hook

- shin breakers

- 360 degree stand

- Head lights

- Tail lights

- light up interior dashboard

- light up insturments

- light up buttons

- light up after burner

- opening canopy hatch with highly detailed interior

- armor cocoon (yeah, it might be a piece of flimsy crap)

I'd say the Tumbler is the POS, that and it's camo brother.

Wow, you must have put a lot of work into that. That's really nice.

are you sure it's the HT? I think that was the Toynami or something else

Looks great... But that batman is suffocating in there. Way too tight in it for him. With the costume and a shield he will need a powerful ac to survive.! Looks good, shame i have no money/space to buy it. Lol.
