The good news is you should be able to request a replacement canopy and solve your problems. Now we know they're getting damaged stateside during shipment, as I suspected. The boxes are either getting left upside down or being buried under other heavy boxes, either way resulting in the shield pressing down over the car.

No they are not. Sideshow specifically told me when I called them the first time that there are NO replacement parts from Hot Toys and their customer service is NON-EXISTENT.

Uhhh .. That's not been my experience. My IM Mark 7 had a broken shoulder, SSC sent me a replacement part and I had to destroy the broken arm and send them pictures to verify.

Yes, they have offered replacement parts in the past (they replaced a damaged Reeve Superman head for me)... But the Batmobile seems to be a different beast. I haven't heard of anybody being offered replacement parts on it so far.

That's because they have extra inventory they set aside for CS issues in case they need to replace something. I asked if I could get replacement pieces for the canopy and was flat out told that they could not obtain replacement parts for this. It was either credit or refund.

Which is just stupid. What company DOESN'T make replacement parts available for their products? Oh yeah, Hot Toys.

No warranty. Buy at your own risk. If you are not satisfied with our products then don't buy them. We really don't care.

Just got my Batmobile from BBTS, it was opened with a piece of paper saying it was inspected for damage.....if came scratched. I will post up pics soon but the straps that were supposed to hold the canopy in place were off....I think them checking it might have actually been what made it scratched in the first place. I don't know if they put the canopy straps back on right or if those came off during shipping. Either way....getting them to check it ment nothing.

EDIT: Pictures!

That sucks, so what is BBTS doing with their damaged ones? Even though it may have been perfect, I'm worried about they way it may be handled by the delivery guys, I can't imagine them being happy about picking up 100s of these huge boxes and sorting them for delivery from BBTS or SSC.

Allthey had to do was leave a inch of buffer in the design of the internal packaging. It wld inc the box size by an inch o so. What a shame a 700 dollar collectible and such issues. Also the resale matket is pretty much crashed on this one...

Unless you lucked out and received a mint then resale value has gone up.

HT has enough money in the bank to make this right but they just do not care.

Eff that, might as well just repaint the scratched ones gloss black and and make it a Returns version.

His scratches are BEHIND the canopy which would require replacing the entire upper body of the car. That's never gonna happen.

I was close to ordering one of these from BBTS since they have them in stock, but this many postings of scratched canopies and roofs, just tells me it is too much of a risk to take for a 700 dollar item.
This is really too bad. This was one of the most anticipated pieces from Hot Toys.
With all of the damaged ones showing the same areas affected, it really seems this must be a manufacturing caused issue, and not the goofy, and useless plastic armor shell.
Oh well, I guess this saves me 700 bucks towards something else down the line.

PS: I really hope they don't do this **** with the 1966 Batmobile. I have to have that one...Please Hot Toys.

a-dev, looks like it's going to be a while. So here's hoping we get the later fixed batches. 15th of October.

I love both this Batmobile and the Tumbler, but this will be my last 1/6 vehicle from HT.

When I look at pictures of the perfect Batmobiles, I want to place an order. Then I see the scratched pictures and I change my mind. I just have to decide if I'm up for a game of Russian Roulette. :lol
