Maybe it had something to do with have more surface area to glue the window panels on? On the prototype it can afford to be fragile, but on a production model they needed it to be more durable to withstand more handling.
This has been the holy grail of my collection since June of last year. It's been displayed under its cocoon for space reasons but whenever I remove the shell check it out (every month or so) there's one thing that instantly distracts me about it: the windows/ canopy area. Compare how less accurate its windows look next to their original prototype's. The gap in the middle as well as the whole frame around the windows got too wide on the final production version it seems, which IMO slightly takes away from the vehicle's beastly character. I can't figure out why this was even changed, but if I had the skills to 3D scan, modify and print my own, I would.

Oh man you need to get it out! I got a custom case built for mine and see it everyday, it's so awesome.

Anyone know of a place I can still snag one for cheap? Held out on the reduced priced BBTS ones too long. 
Mine has a line on one of the back fins. Anyone else have this? Looks like a production seem.
It's not solid line. Can see on certain angles. It looks more like in production when the plastic was molded all together maybe didnt mold together correctly?

Oh yea that's the ones I'm talking about. Mine arnt as noticable but it seems others have it which must be how they molded the plastic. Must be a commen thing then.

yeah we see them going down from the top of the wing in a perpendicular way.
I remember that mine get this lines too. I think all the batmobiles get it.
It doesn't disturb me more than that, i see it like a sort of weathering!

You will love it. Little intimidating on the size like where are you going to put it but it's a aweosme piece. Love mine. Takes up a lot of room but worth it
Looks fantastic. Although I wouldn't trust an open display in a public room, could get scratched up.....

Yes i painted the rims in black satin and the sides of the tyres in rubber mat black because if on the prototype the entire of the tyre is in gum, on the final product the sides are in plastic hard and shinnier than the rest of the tyre.
I always loved the batmobile with black rims. Ten times better than the missed stock gey!

Printing a new canopy and repainting the hubcaps/ tires are on my list. How did you go about repainting the hubcaps? Did you have to remove them? What was the process?

That can't be it when much smaller versions with opening canopies back in the 90's got this right. Just annoying how the prototype got it completely right...
