Valid point, but Superman could've behaved differently for the world to think different, stop hovering around during scary thunderstorms for starters, too brooding. :lol
We don't know how Superman behaved, as you can see from the trailer he's shown helping in a catastrophe, people praising him, reaching out to him and bowing to him, which means he must be doing something good for people to treat him like that, but he's obviously uncomfortable for such devotion, and the rest of the trailer shows the other side of the coin, the people against Superman and people questioning Superman, the mere presence of Superman causes all that.

I think you're right. Why would he use a riffle? Unless he was like, **** it, I can't beat this alien, so I'll just shoot him....with a really old weapon.

It looks too much like a rifle to me... He could be using it as an extended grapple gun like in TDKR.

wow that trailer is really badass. i'm way more exited for this now and it definitely looks like batman is holding a riffle.

The more I think about it, the more I love this trailer. It really does paint Superman in a negative light, but, if you notice, he really does nothing wrong in the trailer. It's all about the world's interpretation of him, Batman's interpretation of him; the audience's interpretation of him.

In a way, that actually makes me more hopeful that he'll become the Superman we want. They've stripped him down as much as he possibly could be, which leads me to believe that he'll be built back up again. I can't wait to see this on the big screen in front of Age of Ultron.

:exactly::goodpost:

Excellently put, when you think about it, it's not Superman who's all dark and gritty in that trailer, it's the audience.

Man, people bash Snyder, but look a that....

:lol:yess:

Totally agree. This is what I was expecting from Snyder and Co. the way they ended Man of Steel. We've never seen this interpretation of Superman on the big screen, ever, only in the comic books and that's what I absolutely love about it. I've said from day one, that I'm glad Snyder did not give us "the big blue boy scout" in Man of Steel cause we've seen it too many times. I dig it that we got a Superman who made mistakes, wasn't ready, was in over his head, and was, no matter what some believe, really on the first day on the job and had to do the unthinkable right off and go against everything we hold dear about the character. And here in this trailer, Snyder is literally riffing on all those criticisms of his character by making the audience and the way they interpret him so vastly negative. And yet, Superman is still there, staying resilient, staying strong even if we are trying to bring him down. I like the mantra with this that you have to fall before you can really learn to walk, or as Superman would do, fly.

I'm still really curious about all of the "Day of the Dead" looking people, with their skeleton like face paint. Maybe protesters over the deaths during the Battle of Metropolis?

You know what I like about the trailer? It makes Pa Kent's death not seem utterly pointless (scene is still stupid), or his ideals at least, people is literally losing their **** because of Superman, he was right after all.
wow... that's deep man

yeah I have no idea, they were reaching out to him. so not protesters

That sounds bang-on. I like that. Yeah this could be pretty interesting. I wonder....I really wonder could this film actually make me look on MOS as a better film than I do right now. Risky way to go about it but may there yet be a great pay-off.....

Is that the Bat-voice they're going for? I was hoping since Ben Affleck is Kevin Smiths' BFF I figured his portrayal would sound more like Kevin Conroy instead of angry-growly man.. Oh well. :(
