More than This BVS which was the point.
That's what I meant.

This meet up should be legendary. Freddie V Jason got more attention and press than this given its budget and marketing.
You're kidding right? :lol Have you seen the post and view count in this thread? It's the equivalent of the attention this movie in general, irl and the internet has got.

Eh no, no they are not. :lol
Look again. :lol

I finally got a chance to see the Jimmy Kimmel clip. I guess I have a different sense of humor than most here because I loved it. Ben Affleck was hilarious.

Also, the Will Arnett segment was very reminiscent to arguments that broke out here and on the Suicide Squad board. :lol

See I disagree, even after MOS, a movie with negative reviews, that a good amount of superhero fans were disappointed with, Cavill is returning as Superman, the casting of Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Snyder coming back to direct, same dark and serious tone, this movie is still arguably the most anticipated of the year. Even with all the negative press we've seen before the movie even started filming, and the horrible trailer 2, everyone is still excited to see Batman and Superman on the big screen.

it still amazes me how every person I know in real life that saw the movie actually enjoyed MOS, while most here seem to hate it.

Jaws felt rushed. They should have given the shark a solo film first so that Jaws felt more epic :) ;)

Them fightin words. :panic:

Batman and Superman as characters are durable, you can do whatever you want with them and they won't break. Some things work, some things don't. A lot of the success for both characters in the various forms of media is the equivalence of catching lightning in a bottle. There isn't a sure thing to bank on for Batman to always equal a success. There are no rules or a check list that he must adhere to. Look at how many different interpretations there are of him. This is why Batman and Superman continue to exist after the 75+ years since their creation, they're flexible as icons.

If this particular formula they chose for this movie works in a couple of weeks, we'll see more of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and the Justice League. If it proves to be the wrong choice . . . they'll still make Batman (and Superman) movies in the future. They're never going to die and they've been on screen a lot longer than the Marvel characters, who to my knowledge, only have one cinematic version of each of those characters.

Fatality!

I just saw that Jimmy Kimmel skit. . .kinda wish I didn't. . .

So, as I walked into my local megaplex to see The Witch, I couldn't help but notice that every single piece of theater advertising (movie posters, standees, etc...) was for a cbm. BVS, Suicide Squad, X-Men, Captain America, etc... I found it kind of depressing, it's getting way too over-saturated, but with DC's Justice League movies starting up, it's only going to get worse. To me, it's Star Wars x10.

Cap and Hulk maybe, Thor wasn't.

Outside of the comics that is. And even then, Cap and Hulk aren't in the level of Batman/Superman/WW. And then you have arrowguy, black widow and iron man, that's 2 out of 6.

I would say Cap and Hulk are bigger the WW... Outside of Comic fans I don't know too many people who know much about WW and what her powers are. Outside of the Comics... I would argue that Iron Man is bigger then Superman right now (Film wise of course )... All three IM films were bigger then MOS... Who knows how well Hulk could have been received in a Solo film if Ang Lee didn't crap all over him and ruin it for the next try :lol

Batman is Huge.. No question...
In BvS you will have B and Superman with WW on the side akin to BW in Iron Man 2, and that's forced?

BW is not WW... Again this is a second tier player.. WW deserves more then BW... BW appearing in IM2 was no big deal.... WW should be better the a Cameo.

Do you read comics? Honest question, characters are introduced all the time with small cameos. 1 or 2 cameos is nothing.

Yes... But that is the point.. Look at the films as Comics... If WW just appeared in a superman comic for only a couple of panels and you knew little about her then it would be no big deal... Or if I never picked up a WW comic.. No big deal.. But if I knew who WW was and what she was about then it would be very cool to see her in a few panels of a Superman Comic...

Now you might say.. But we know who WW is... We don't need to read her comic... Well I don't know this rendition and like I said before... I am not saying that it can't be good... I am saying it could have been much better.

Even with all the build up I doubt anyone will care about the GotG meeting the avengers. It will be cool and all, but I doubt a big fuzz will be made, or that it will have any gravitas, if anything, it will be a comedic moment.

Personally I don't geek out about GotG... But when it happens it will be cool to see all of them sharing screen time...

What? It was over 1 hour and 20 minutes of character development.

Poorly done character development... I think Superman/Clark Kent had 15 lines of Dialogue. Due to the way the story was told in flashbacks and everything you never got to connect with any of the characters... Lets not forget also that 25 min of that opening Hour and 20 was Krypton... Nothing to do with the man himself. Again we were expected to flow with the story because we knew the characters... I compare how this film was done compared to the Reeves version and how fleshed out everyone was... Louis Lane had character, Pa Kent had character, Perry White had character.... SUPERMAN had character... Really... Take away what we know about the comics and tell me who Louis and Perry were in this film... Who was Superman other then a scared and confused alien made that way by his adoptive father... How about the forced relationship with Louis...

I am getting off topic... My point... Superman is more then a Suit... Shame on those who say otherwise ; :)

Jaws felt rushed. They should have given the shark a solo film first so that Jaws felt more epic :) ;)

JAWS should have been about another hour and a half long.. I needed more time just to hang with Brody on Amity Island... I love it there :)

You see.... It's shouldn't be arguably the most anticipated film of the year... It should be the most anticipated film period... Had there been a build up to this the hype would be through the roof... Bad second trailer and all. If there had been a Batman and WW film and maybe a 2nd Superman film all to lead up to BvS... WOW... I can't imagine. Actually I can... It was called the Avengers.

I can't disagree with any of that... But I just wish this could have been more... It still could be.. I guess I just don't trust Snyder and I think WB should have taken it slower rather then try and catch up with Marvel.

it still amazes me how every person I know in real life that saw the movie actually enjoyed MOS, while most here seem to hate it.

Funny... I don't know anyone who really likes it that much.. My best friend who is a HUGE Superman fan really hated it and what they did to his character... In fact he is even pissed they are making a BvS already because Batman is going to take screen time away from Superman and he still feels cheated by MOS.

Not using this next point as an argument against... Just thought this was funny.

I showed it to my 10 and 7 year old this past weekend to get them ready for the new film... With no input from me.... they both did not care for it very much.. they thought it was boring (I attribute that to the poor character development) But they are not typical "give me more action kids" they both liked BB and TDK.. My 10 year old said TDKR ruined the other two films :lol (again with no input from me) movie... My 10 year old prefers the Reeves film... Anyways just pointing out my kids are a chip off the old block. :lol

I'm pretty sure other people here have said this already, but I guess I'll remind you that the Marvel characters needed their own films first because no one knew who Iron Man was....in fact, the mainstream audience didn't even know what Avengers was and the only character in that group who was well known by the public was Hulk. Batman and Superman don't need to use the Marvel formula before having them share the screen for the first time for people to get excited. This film doesn't feel like 76 years in the making, but making a MOS 2, a solo Batman film, and a solo WW is not really going to change that.

Captain America was well known just not on par with the others. Iron man was B list at best
