Superman is one bad day away from being the Punisher.

He just has to smile next time something blows up and he's there. :lol
Batman really is the Punisher here. Snyder Superman is more like Ultimates Hulk.

He's kind of like Ashton Kutcher in The Butterfly Effect, where he finally realized that every alternate reality always ended horribly because of his own existence until he finally went all the way back and aborted himself in his mother's womb.
Sounds like where they are heading with the storyline in these movies. Not sure if it is bleak enough, though.

LOL. Superman doesn't kill the terrorist in BvS. Hopefully that will be made more clear with the Extended Cut and be clear when folks frame-by-frame it (Supes actually spins around and is the one who goes through the wall first). Though it happens so super-fast I'm not even sure how many frames it is. :lol
So he throws himself through the wall? That's weird.

That ship was buried in ice and was on earth long before Supes ever arrived. The government was digging at the site and would have found the ship at some point. Supes found it first. Yes he started the ship and that signaled zod, however the government or lex luther would have eventually got to it and triggered the same signal.
Well eventually, the sun will burn out and all life on earth will end. But if Superman moved the timetable up by blowing the sun out with super breath, I still think he should bear some responsibility.

Snyder Superman is more like Ultimates Hulk.

Huh, I never thought it like that. Hey, maybe if I see the Snyderverse as Ultimate DC then it ain't so bad! Now all we need is Batman to shout "what do you think this symbol on my chest stands for? Hope?!", Wonder Woman to be a delusional hippie, Cyborg to be mentally unstable due to the motherbox messing with his head, and Flash to be addicted to the speed-force. Aquamomoa can be Black Panther, i.e. never uttering a single word. Shazam will be changed to a teenager, whose hormones get the better of him and well, you get the rest... Sad thing is, I think some these ain't too far fetched for the Snyderverse...

Joking aside, I never saw it as Hopeman killing the terrorist. He probably put his fist first, but wouldn't the flying debris hit his neck with quite a punch? I mean, wouldn't it be easier to just zap his gun with his eye beams and be done with it?

I didn't think he killed the guy, either. That's a typical comic book move to take a guy out. But considering Snyder's focus on making things "dark and realistic," I can understand how some would assume that. Bricks are gonna win against bones and organs most of the time.

Not even nitpicks, think about them for 2 seconds and you'll have a mind blowing epiphany; "oh, that's why".
OK. Just for you, and you alone I'll try to list everything I liked in BvS. Keep in mind I've only seen it once.

The musical score(mostly). It worked in the context of the film for me.

Death of Bruce's parents. Best visualization of that moment I've seen. If you're going to introduce a new Batman then you have to show what made him. It's that moment that stops Bruce from being a child and turns him into a force of rage and vengeance.

The chaos of the attack on Metropolis. Not necessarily the whole thing but showing it from the ground level gave it new meaning. And the shot of Superman and Zod battling reminded me so much of Miracleman fighting Kid Miracleman it made me crack a smile.

Superman's entrance in the Africa scene. The sonic booms and seeing him fly in from the distance was beautiful.

Cavill as Clark. Something about him as Clark just speaks to me. He's not corny or goofy and even though he's so serious I see that earnestness in him that draws me to Superman as a character.

The scene from the trailer between Clark and Bruce(before they are interrupted)

Gal Gadot's lips and accent

There have been complaints about the cities not having character but I liked the realism of how they felt.

Most of Superman's flying scenes.

Batman warehouse.

Lens flares. Spielberg, JJ, Bay, I don't care who does them I like to see them.

Oh, Perry White. He totally felt like a real newspaper editor in today's world.

Affleck's build. Reminded me of that Alex Ross Bruce Wayne.

And that's about all I can think of.

Yeah, that was pretty much my impression as well.

This thread is like watching a movie with my little nieces; Who's that? Why did they do that? Why is this happening?.

This.

Too many people love to bash this movie. I'm honestly close to just staying out. There are people who loved BvS but its too hard to find them having to filter through page after page of bandwagon hate.

The anti-Cavill comments are just absurd. "He's just not heroic.." yet the guy saves BILLIONS by killing Zod & Doomsday. Billions. Absurd. There's no winning with these people.

Ok, then he's both because Irish knows very well that terrorist was pulverized. :lol
Well he wasn't killed. But only his brain remains "alive," setting this up:

Now sitting at 805 M for Worldwide Boxoffice. Will have the legs to reach 1B?

Doubtful on the billion but $900 million is very possible.

For being a critically panned film its doing pretty damn great. Most CBMs that made big numbers had great support from the critics:

1. THE AVENGERS (2012) $1.5 Billion
2. AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON (2015) $1.4 Billion
3. IRON MAN 3 (2013) $1.2 Billion
4. THE DARK KNIGHT (2008) $1 Billion *No 3D
5. THE DARK KNIGHT RISES (2012) $1 Billion *No 3D
6. BATMAN v SUPERMAN (2016) $806 Million (so far)
7. GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY (2014) $773 Million
8. DEADPOOL (2016) $758 Million *Rated R
9. THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN (2012) $758 Million
10. X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST (2014) $748 Million *No IMAX
11. CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER (2014) $714 Million
12. THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 (2014) $709 Million
13. MAN OF STEEL (2013) $668 Million
14. THOR: THE DARK WORLD (2013) $645 Million
15. IRON MAN 2 (2010) $624 Million *No 3D
16. IRON MAN (2008) $585 Million *No 3D or IMAX
17. ANT-MAN (2015) $519 Million
18. THOR (2011) $449 Million
19. THE WOLVERINE (2013) $415 Million *No IMAX
20. X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE (2009) $373 Million *No 3D or IMAX
21. CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER (2011) $371 Million
22. X-MEN: FIRST CLASS (2011) $354 Million *No 3D or IMAX
23. THE INCREDIBLE HULK (2008) $263 Million *No 3D or IMAX
24. GREEN LANTERN (2011) $220 Million *No IMAX
25. FANTASTIC FOUR (2015) $168 Million *No 3D or IMAX

*Left everything pre-2008 out because of inflation and there was no 3D or IMAX - which changed the box office significantly upon their arrival
