Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

And not ALL is made in China these days, there are subcontractors in other parts of Asia, which also explain the long delays. The reason is that "manual" labor is getting "expensive" in mainland China industrial complex, so sometimes these labor intensive things are done in "less expensive" countrys where they still can get the nesessary skills to do the job, materials and product turnaround at a more cheaper cost....no...they will not pass those "savings" to us....none of the open markets manufactures in the world do...no matter what they say. For example, take Ford Motor Co., I worked in a gov. Fleet mantainance center, when I was handling the parts stock for the Ford cars/trucks...the amount of "country of manufacture" was incredible...and all over the world. China and Taiwan lost the cheap manufacturing monopoly/exclusivity long ago.

Well it ALL depend on quality control and how much supervision every part of a production project gets from the product designer, seller and owner of the licence, sometimes...as we have seen over and over...a great prototype is done and then everything is put in "cruise control" in the manufacturing stage by the two sides...what we get?...a compleatly different thing from the original prototype shown. The reason is because that "production cruise control" attitude that sometimes is taken by companys and the production factories, cutting corners in production costs, high cost manual labor and raw materials, because these days are so many contractors and subcontractors involved and so many "small changes to production" made...these usualy turn in the end into a whole different produced item, wich in turn is not what the customers where expecting or want to buy. Anyone who have to deal with production of items and keep a sharp eye to all the aspects of it, knows is an extreamly expensive proposition to get an almost exact duplicate of prototype to final sale product.

If we take in consideration for example, the Headsculpts..you get a superb prototype(s) great detail, likeness, paint application, then send it to be molded, cast and painted for production BUT do not supervise, revise, look at how it coming along in all its stages of production...you will get something different from the original concept, these quality control steps are the ones wich cost money, since making changes to an already production piece(s) will mean more time, production line slot delays and no revenue to the licence/product seller, that why sometimes we get the bad figures...they simply said..."ah well, the next one will be better" or "we have enogh preorders to get a gain on this particular one" , is not easy or cost effective and even more in this particular collector field where fidelity to the subject in all its areas is expected and the price tag is usualy quite high, but imagine that if brand companys like HT or SSC have their "figure problems" sometimes, and they have more monetary backup as well as important licence clients....the smaller and more collectors direct companys have to make the best they can and however they can...with limited budgets in these "overseas production system" that sometimes, do not deliver what was expected. This is one of the reasons I do not pre-order anymore, until I see the actual production/in hand products, this is of course my very personal view and opinion on this subject and fully respect those who think and view all this in a different way on this matter.

Your not wrong.....but I think anyone who has been collecting for any length of time KNOWS there will be a drop off from Proto.....there always is. If people expect to get the Proto figure they will, of course, be very disappointed. I always give a 20% drop off over all as an acceptable loss. That's over the entire figure of course.

Blitzway's last big offering, only lost about 10% from Proto IMO. Tyler is one of my favorite figures and the shelf presence on it is really powerful.

If they get it as close as they got with Tyler , we will have some amazing figures for our collection. BW has my full confidence......members of the collecting community however......well let's just say many of them are perfectionists and Masochists.....who never seem to understand the inevitable loss from Proto.

I do not see a scenario where these figures do not turn out to be amazing...first washed out photos may be bad but like they did with Tyler Durden I am convinced that Blitzway will nail it again!

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

The figures will turn out fine. I'm not worried personally.

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

Are these still on course for release before SDCC or no chance of that now?

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

I'm shooting for October release.

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

Blitzway said the Ecto-1 ride will be there at comic con months ago, i'd be shocked if all 4 final 4 release were not on display. Anyway still hoping all 4 show up in August.

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

seven months later after that January initial release date..understandable but so many false dates given since then...

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

Yes dates were changed but the last i heard they were on the way to us from Timewalker news letter ,so i'm expecting hoping August/ Sept latest which will be perfect 4 me. Last payment have set up for 1st august and this will either be very cool early or very late b-day gift to myself. We have to be close to 1st freakout pics ,anytime now.:horror:lol:impatient:

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

So I wonder will they display the final production pieces at SDCC or the prototypes again. Be cool to see the Ecto-1 even though there is no chance of me having the space to ever buy it.

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

they built a full diorama set for the ghostbuster

i am sure they will have something big for their very first vehicle build , its not if the ghostbuster will be there, but will they build an entire 1/6 scale Firehouse diorama go to with it

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

I think it'd be cool if they built a diorama of the street in front of Dana and Louis's apartment building with ECTO-1 parked in front of it, with the figures with their packs on and the police barricades around them.

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

I just find it a bore that all these company's can't hire a part time person to man social media/customer enquires and keep us in the loop.
Difficult at times to keep hype on something that could always be months away. Pre order culture is hell at times, especially when no info is given past the initial reveal. Why its so hard I'll never know.

Want this so bad as it was my childhood growing up, had all the toys as a kid and now want the grown up toys as a adult. Have a space in the cabinet for months now and seeing it bare is painful.
