It's definitely interesting. I wonder how much (if at all) its legality would help the economy. The sale of it that is. Over the long run I'm sure it'd hurt the economy, lowering IQs substantially.

A recent Yale study found that it does not lower the iq of an already developed brain. With that said developing kids/teens shoukdnt do it. Along with alcohol cigs ect ect..

I don't understand that mentality. Many people including new drinkers can drink one beer with no effect. A number of people, especially new smokers, will get a buzz, probably with effects similar to being legally drunk, after taking one or two hits off a joint or a pipe. In my opinion, with things being as equal as they can, you will get messed up quicker from pot than alcohol. And yes it's been many years now, but I used to get high.

I hear your point. Lets say a few drinks, however I knew plenty of people who get surly or act the fool after one drink. Which usually leads to several more.

I really, really love smoking and have been a regualr consumer at one point or another. I've been clean for about a year now though. There's many reasons:

My son is four and I don't want him around it.
It makes me lazy.
I eat like crazy while stoned and put on weight.
I tend to get in arguments with my wife when I smoke.

There is a huge list of things weed and hemp are good for. It's an interested read. It's always an interesting read on just how and why growing hemp became illegal. If the growing of weed and hemp would become legal, it would really help our economy bigtime!

So, should every other drugs also be legal under that logic? Meth, coke, Heroin....

In my opinion, most drugs should be legalized. Like I said, one should have the right to do what they desire with their body. That being said, meth can be dangerous to make, so I could see it being a problem legally. Maybe continue to keep it illegal as far as home manufacturing, and only make it available by licensed individuals or companies?

Overall I think it would be an economy stimulant to legalize drugs. I say legalize them and, like drinking, one must be held responsible for any damage one causes while under the influence.

It's a shame people choose to use drugs, but as long as their using of drugs doesn't directly affect me...I think they should have the right to.

^^^ What the ****ing **** is that supposed to mean???????

A question with only 1 question mark. :dunno

If you have a point to make, do it. But don't hide behind shallow teenage arguments. There is not such thing as a victimless addiction. Legalize pot I am good with, but perhaps y'all might want to expand on what you mean by "other" drugs should be legalized too. What? Meth? Cocaine ? Heroin?

I needed at least 7. Because that is just an insane jump to another level of...I don't know what. :lol

weed is not on the the same league as meth, crack and heroin. now those should never be legal.

Ive enjoyed using this same analogy during gun discussions.
I try to remain neutral on the gun debate, but those people who keep claiming "a gun is an object that does nothing wrong, its the user thats the problem", I always immediately go to legalizing all drugs and any/all inanimate objects under the same logic.
So rocket launchers and heroine should both be legal cause its the user thats the problem, not the lifeless object?.... :lol

:exactly:

That is why I would like agen_kolar to expand on what he meant by

In my opinion, most drugs should be legalized.

and how exactly someone can a human get by, partaking in the hefty menu of drugs, without "affecting" other people.

the only thing that could validate Kolar's comment could be the POV that Bill Burr has.
We are the only species that saves the weak and doesnt let natural selection weed out the sick and weak. Legalizing drugs could allow the weak-minded to spiral out of control into their ultimate demise and, in the long run, actually strengthen the intellect of our species :lecture
