Re: The First Avenger: Captain America Discussion Thread

I know it got me excited:rock

It did not do the same for me as I was hoping it would. I know it's just a teaser and it's great to see something, but it left me feeling flat.

Did anyone else think Tommy Lee Jones looked really, really awkward, like his jacket was 5 sizes too big?

Re: The First Avenger: Captain America Discussion Thread

I dont think Jones will add anything.
He's been playing the same role since The Fugitive.

Re: The First Avenger: Captain America Discussion Thread

Things that stood out for me.

Tommy Lee Jones looked really out of place.

The action seemed a bit underwhelming. Nothing grandois like taking Normandy beach. In fact that running around the woods battle gave me more of a Pan's Labrynth feal then war movie.

The Flame Thrower War machine looking nazis.

Cap acting like a bit of a _____ the way he hid behind his shield. I dont know exactly how to explain it, but like in Star Wars, when a jedi gets shot at, he just stands there, puts his saber in front of him, moves it where it needs to block the lasers and doesn't think twice about it. Cap looked more like he was cowering behind his shield.

Re: The First Avenger: Captain America Discussion Thread

I thought it was alright. The transformation from skinny steve to captain America steve was really well done. Steve Rogers looked tiny pre-super-soldier-treatment.

The Red Skull makeup looks spectacular.

The Cap suit was okay. Not really feeling the helmet tho. The tarantino group walking shot with the howling commandos looked a bit hokey. Not too convinced with the battle sequences... I wish it looked more gritty. More realistic weapons and such.

Re: The First Avenger: Captain America Discussion Thread

Exactly.......Captain America feels the global PC climate therefore, refrains from taking sides.....he is just an avenger.

just an avenger, that his created colors are the red, white and blue..our flag's colors and our nation's flag...its all about political correctness(Globalism) instead of our nation's sovereignty and what our country is suppose to represent--and that is FREEDOM

so to sell more tickets, lets not bring the America of the FREE into it..

Hugo Weaving just going to eat up the scenery in this flick.
He looks good, er, bad that is.
