Love the trailer...I'm a bit worried that it doesn't 'continue' the story from CoR where he needs to return to Furia and seek his 'revenge'...perhaps that will play out, but it doesn't appear so. Didn't see Vaako in the trailer...perhaps he is the new Necro leader?

My understanding is he is dethroned and banished to this planet. Events from CoR are referenced and it is truly a sequel, but that plot doesn't really continue.

I can already tell from the trailer the story line. Riddick is banished to some planet, Bounty hunters find him to kill him, Ridick kills a bunch of them, then he gets captured. Just before Riddick is killed, Atmosphere changes and creatures show up. Bounty Hunters keep Riddick alive so he can help them (same as Pitch Black). Should be good.

It depends on what type of mood I'm in which I prefer, the movies are so far different in scope its hard to compare the two... ironic considering they are a series.

I really like both. I like that they are such different beasts. Riddick is such a great character that you could stick him in a Romantic Comedy and he would still be kicking A$$.

I thought COR had a very epic feel and I wanted more after it ended. Never thought I would have to wait this long.
