Quick, and let me emphasize quick, photoshop helmet adjustment.

Sorry, looks like those helmets that customized the don post domes....doesn't look right....the closeness of the dome's edge to the shoulders are dependent on two things, the slight angle of the some tilting acouple degrees back plus the shorter neck due to the lack of the rear collar only used in the reveal shots ..look whwn vader first enters tantive iv, the done appears shorter....even when he enters echo base....or in a couple shots in bespin freeze chamber....the helmet is a scan of an esb helmetbut itjyst sits a tad higher and maybe angled mire forward....the edge of tje domeshould not be parallel to the jawline...the reveal details are sculpted from recerence.....outside, esb inside roj....

Also we deliberately are not se eing the space between the rear of the helmet and vaders shoulers bc there was no reveal collar , just the actors neck

This is one cinemaquette im not a fan of and i LOVE vader! The saber/lights, and quality of materials look great, but the scale of bits and pieces of the costume just look way off, and the dome just looks the worst.
Congrats to those who got it, but i wouldnt drop the amount of money this price tag has in a long shot.

Mate, all I did was clone the helmet down a bit - that's why I said the words "emphasize quick."

Sorry demorathis, but all I'm reading is bla, bla, bla. You can see what you want to see but the simple fact is the CM's helmet doesn't sit properly. I posted screen shots of the films before - just look at them. But if that's not CLEAR enough for you to see here's the actual helmet...

Good pics of helmet mandible, , I did see that it was a quicky photoshop , kind of reminded me of space balls :) I have to say that at first I too felt the helmet was too short and I love the long look of it , then I said hm maybe I will modify it when I get it , then I got it and I love it , but when compared to many pics of vader I do se the difference , have to say guys I dropped my helmet and it broke LOL. , but now I guess that gives me an excuse to customize a helmet for it

Hey RJ,
Please don't take my comments as a go at you or your purchase, I'm simply saying, if it were mine it'd bother me - and I'd be modding it - as I did with my SSC 1/6 Vader :)

But the more photos I see of it, I must admit I'm coming around; the quality of build looks amazing. The stance doesn't bother me anymore either although I would still prefer a red "off" lightsaber.

Sorry to hear that dude :(

... I agree that the dome doesnt " sit" properly on shoulders n mask...too high....
(btw the anh helmet pictured above generally sits lower than esb almost covering the eyelids),
but the dome length of the cm itself is fine..

Oh not at all bud it's all good , I actually agree, I've always felt that the helmet looked too high in the back, ever sence I saw it at the comicon, and this cm helmet there is no way you can sit it lower as it fits exactly where it was ment to sit , so there is no give , which I thought would be possible , but maybe I will just play around with it, like make a copy make it longer and see which one works better , will be interesting to see , but I tell you this
Thing is impressive and the helmet grows on you, lol only when I see fotos I get reminded , hey it's too short in the back lol

I'm curious if the lightsaber is similar to the Gentle Giant Chrome Vader

What the?! Since when does Darth Vader use Master Replica sabers? :slap
Lightsaber being white is the biggest fail of the statue. It looks fine, but I couldn't have Darth Vader with a white saber in my collection. (although he never could come in my collection because of the price, but that's another story :monkey3).

But to all the people that don't mind the white saber and love this guy, congratz :peace

You can discuss about the helmet and other details as long as you want. It will always be just a statue with many artistic freedoms.

Fact: Vader never wore the reveal helmet aside in the ESB-Chamber scene and his death scene. That helmet-prop was never meant to be worn in other scenes because it won't work with all that stuff under it.
It was just built for those scenes.

CM wanted to have an reveal-helmet vader. You can't get the best of both worlds so they decided for a compromise. That is what makes it look akwards. Just like the 1:1 bust from Sideshow.

If i had a wish free i would have voted for a non-removable helmet all the way. But thats not the case so i am still waiting for a "perfect" Vader (i have still hopes for a new PF...).

Ditto. I have the ANH PF but it's also got issues, so hopefully the ESB version is spot-on.

Don't forget he also wore it in ROTS.
And like you said, the reveal helmet were just made for those scenes. I don't get why CM would make a TESB Vader with a FULL reveal. It's just like making a TESB/ROTJ Boba Fett with a Temuera Morrison head beneath the helmet :dunno

Regarding the height of the helmt / dome etc:

Here's a genuine ESB...this one was a charity auction piece from LFL...
seated higher against the shoulders than usual and the dome is about the same proportion as the cm
(Normally Vader's neck sits over and lower in front of the breastplate)

The more I look at other Vader pictures, the more I notice that the cape at the shoulders seem to BUMP UP to the back of the neck...attempt to conceal the lack of covering there? But it definitely closes the gap...

I hope the PF is good -- but it's the LGD scale I've got high hopes for...although even the lifesize bust was off, and Darth Maul is a tad wonky in the face (big-headed) - but it may shrink after the molding process...
