The SS 1:1 Vader bust might not have been very accurate but still is one impressive piece!

Most definitely -- that's why I had to get it the moment I saw it at comic con! =) ... you could tell that there was some scanning involved, and some cleanup, but the source was a real Vader mask...makes it have greater provenance (the dome is new construction of course)

My gripes with it are minor -- I shouldnt even call them gripes...just observations (though I had to exchange mine because it has scratchy swirls on the black paint) -- every Vader collectible has a unique "character" to it...makes them easy to spot at a glance and worth getting the different representations =)

I can't believe the price of these items. It's getting ridiculous. The average collector can't even afford these luxuries, so the people that can afford them are making this hobby difficult for average collectors.

And...have price any reason(quality, accuracy, FX,...) or it is only brand and status of CM?!

Probably both quality and Name, aside from some of the critiques, (like position, pose, publicity armour, any number of things we've debated on, etc)
the helmet and armour is an output of a 3d file scan supplied by LFL so there's some provenance there, too (if I recall right from my conversation with CM), the outfit is real leather, the workmanship of the statue and outfit, the whole package and care that went into the design and creation, the electronics and the "fun factor" of being able to unmask him and pose the cape and play the sounds...I don't seem to remember any of the other cinemaquettes having audio...though there are lights on the Predator...

Obviously the price is at a premium and I'm sure these companies know that not everyone is "crazy enough" to want to buy something that expensive, but there are few who are...Like the Legend Maul, I really like, but like what some think of the Vader, it'd have to be picture perfect for me to buy the Maul...The Vader only takes a little nudge for me to want to acquire...like some I'm still searching for the perfect Vader -- I don't think there'll ever be one somehow, lest people stop collecting once that grail is found...

attakus vader 1 is close to being perfect.

as for this statue, the white light saber and the squatting pose is a big turn off for me, but the positives are just overwhelming, and $2k isnt that crazy considering what people are charging for some of the 1/4 scale stuff on ebay.

I don't really mind the stance, it's not like the new koto...and the white lightsaber used to bug me except that all the fx's are also white -- I could always wrap it in red cello when not in use! =)

As much as I love my Attakus Statues ( I love the first Vader and wanted that statue from the moment the publicity photos came out...I was on pins and needles for it to arrive when I first got it-- though the second has a tad better mask), the faces are off - they really are (- but they look nice nonetheless - the rest, the leather sculpting, the way the cape flows, the gloves look awesome...

The best faces in my opinion (other than the CM) are the Attakus statues, Kotobukiyas, the new Easter Egg Vader containers (nice shape lacking in detail), the CD/radio bust that's out now (but it's a ROTS version), the Medicom 12" (except the dome), the SS 1/6 (except the dome, but the face was just a little flat)...the new GG bust is decent...the telephone bust, The Japanese tin wind-up toy head is great (same sculptor as the Applause vinyls from what I can tell) and the first generation Reds 3' Vinyl Figure...and let's not forget the Riddell 45% scale helmets had nice quality even if it wasn't perfect.

I agree with you but only regarding the pose. Attakus Vader 1 has one of the best (if not the best) Vader poses. As for accuracy, it is not really there. I'm not a Vader specialists but even I can tell you that.

The funny thing is Kotobukiya has some very accurate troopers and Vader too. The Koto Stormie, despite is really stupid pose, has one of the most accurate helmets, right behind GG Stormie bust and on the same level with Marmit

Agreed. But for a basic, strong Vader pose - and let me say it again for the people in the back - POSE... the current SSC PF pretty much captures Vader virtually from a screen grab in the ANH Obi battle.

The dome is correct. It just has the Don Post angle to it, which is similar to the first shot of Vader entering the rebel base on Hoth. It was sitting too high and raised too much forward, pulling the back of the dome flanges up and making it look shorter. Angling the dome down a bit more in the rear and placing it lower in the face may fix the issue, but I assume that the reveal details on top of the face mask make that impossible.

Also, they don't seem to have replicated the shape of the rear of the chest armor and how it raises up above his shoulders or the bulk up his upper back and neck - things that would tug the cape up more to the neck of the face mask and conceal more of the space between shoulder and dome flange. But again, with the dome sitting higher and raised more forward... it will ultimately have the Hoth Entrance look and not how it looked in the rest of the movie. In a sense, still an accurate placement... it just doesn't look pleasing as the other, more standard one.

They got many things right with the shape of the helmet.

The artfx+ figures are some of their best work work....the vader suffers abit From wide set bubble eyes..like in my avatar, but still decent....those stormtrooper two packs have the best poses.....and sculpts

Yeah. I was talking about the 1:6/1:7 Koto statues since I don't have the 1:10 ones. But glad to hear Kotobukiya still kept their quality regarding accuracy. :)

For that reason I was tempted to get the ObiWan, but I had to keep my focus on Vader...I hope that when SS does their pose for either PF or LGDary scale it's either,
I really good rendition of the kneeling pose (both hands on the knee looking up), or the hands on the belt default pose which artfx+ got just right, or the "you are part of the rebel alliance and a traitor" / "No disintegrations" type of pose...I guess I'd like a really nice kinda neutral pose --- even the Attakus 1 striding pose would be great or fists on the hips with the cape flaring wide...

All good classic poses, though he never struck the fists on the hips pose in any of the movies. That was only in promo material he did that and that was someone else in the suit.

he briefly did when he entered the Tantive iv and surveyed the hallway as his elbows protrude in that way thru the cloak... but the standard hands down to the sides is fine too ---
