Thanks for letting me know Raf. Polystone + heat = somewhat poseable :yess:

Its not exactly polystone.....if I.m not mistaken, I think george at cm said its more like a polyurethane composite, so make sure whatever you do won't result in anything dangerous:lecture
Chemically speaking....

Do it
The Superman CM was awesome! I have Indy and Jack and would have LOVED Superman, but at this stage its become too unaffordable.
Vader however :slap ......... im glad cause hes my fave all time character and i would have just HAD to have this if it was perfect......

heres what you do....since the cm vader looks more like vader than tne indy or jack look like their counterparts, sell the jack or indy and buy the vader, if he.s your all time favorite....i think the pf vader aint great but I still got it,, as a vader fan, this is a buy if u can bc if you can spend 2grand on a sparrow thats so-so, at least get the vader that u think is so-so...sell one, n buy vader!!!:clap

wow you guys are nuts cutting up a $2000 statue!? :horror

it's odd you hated superman pose, I thought he had one of the better poses of all the cm statues, very iconic. Looked like a perfect statue to me. Guess we all see some things differently. :)

Actually I think I'm the only nut here lol. , I take it your not familiar with my work, lol I have been cutting up cms for a while Lol ,

Has to be the best one yet :)

My order placed yesterday says I have a 7 month wait, on the waitlist. Have any of you guys gotten CM's on the waitlist before...what are my chances?

I'm on the wait list as well. I think you have a Ok chance at one. But, I am pretty sure this is the best selling CM so far.

I got on 2 weeks ago, I think I have a Ok chance myself, but I'm not holding my breath either.

Have you heard anything about your Vader order? I haven't yet.

I ordered back in June 2011.

With the changes in the Cinemaquette web page, I sent an email asking what the status of mine was. This is the reply:

Yes, we do have your order and you are confirmed to get one since you purchased it in 2011. All members who ordered it by December 31, 2011 will be guaranteed to get one. I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble logging onto your account. Since we switched servers and updated the site, the old information did not transfer. Rest assure that all future orders will be documented on the new site.
The estimated delivery date for your Darth Vader is now around late July to early August. Please re-register on the new site so that we can keep you updated with all the latest news. Thank you for your support and patience.

Thanks for the info goldbuffalo. My information didn't transfer on the new website, so I re-registered and put in a new order. Even if my old order is still in their system, I put in my order in March this year...I'm counting on getting one, because I'm selling my SS Darth Vader PF EX to get it. :gah:

All Cinemaquettes are limited to 1,000 pieces, but as far as I know, they have never reached that high of an edition size before stopping production on a piece.

When did this thing come out? Wow looks very big. Is it limited?

I think it was March -- These are huge -- the head is probably the size of a softball? Definitely worth it --- one of the most impressive CMs to date...it has its own character, but it's still one of the most accurately made likenesses ever manufactured for license...

unless you guys are willing to spend $2500-3000 when SS does a LSF, looks like this is your best bet.

This is because CM is using a more expensive fluorescent technology (i.e. gas-discharge lamp that uses electricity to excite mercury vapor) rather than cheap LED lighting. The problem with the red tubes / cheap LED lighting is that the entire saber is not evenly lit when switched on. Just look at SS pieces which use the cheap LED lighting (i.e. the vader PF, etc) - the base and tip of the saber is brighter than the middle section and this is definately NOT the way a saber should be lit. If you want this effect, get a torch light.

The fluorescent saber which CM used is not only a lot more expensive, but it ensures that the entire saber is evenly illuminated. For a $2k piece, I would expect a fluorescent saber to be used, not cheap LED lighting.

do you have this cinemaquette vader?, do you really think that worth the 2k? many people are waiting for the sideshow 1/2 vader, what do you think?, this will be better than cinemaquette? Thanks...

The Cinemaquette - though poised at 1,ooo pcs as all are initially--- will only make it up to 300 worldwide (thats less than the LGD eFX helmets - but twice the price)...

The most ever made was the predator at about 600 plus, I believe.

This Vader features a helmet that is based on a high resolution 3D scan from Lucasfilm of an OT helmet (I don't think the accoutrements were scanned, but sculpted). The shoulder armour looks to be the Bob Anderson fencing armour, but is screen accurate nonetheless.

The audio is the original James Earl Jones recording and Cinemaquette had to obtain that license separately. So this is well worth the price.

I have it and it is just incredible -- it's the best figural depiction of Vader I own, at least til I get Gino's lifesize from SS, or if SS Legendary Scale Figure trumps this one, but SS'd better get that helmet right or else it ain't happening.

So far the Legendary Scales are hit and miss -- I like the Kenobi (even though his eyebrows look like they're plucked), Maul's proportions are a little weak, and Catwoman looks more like Catman with those broad shoulders and narrow hips...Wonder how Vader would fare...

Either way I'm getting the Vader, but it better be a well-sculpted representation....!!!
