players can't just transfer and play the next year. they have to sit out a year before a player can play for the new school

They can if the NCAA grants a special waiver, which it has frequently done in the past with institutional punishments. Even people hoping for the death penalty have asked for that waiver to be given all curent PSU players.

No one is trying to hurt the current players. They may be inconvenienced or disappointed by the punishment, but their lives will not be ruined.

I don't think they should punish the current players or program. I'd like to see them do something radical like allow the program and community to heal and move on and make the only sanction be having a large portion of all football proceeds for years to come go to fund child saftey programs. Instead of punishing those that had nothing to do with it how about help those who can do some good to prevent atrocities like this.

60 mil fine
4 years no bowl games
25 scholarships reduced to 15
All wins terminated from records from 1998 to 2011

Kids are also allowed to transfer, ASAP if they so want to. And current scholarships will be honored.

Not sure why they terminated wins? What does that solve other than to pretty much smear some shat?

Hell they terminated wins and Sandusky wasn't even there anymore coaching. :slap:rotfl

I think it was to ensure Joe Pa wasn't the all-time wins leader.

Wow the NCAA folded to pressure. Not surprised the Penn St board wanted to point fingers to people who are gone or dead and then move on before people started to attack them so they took took what ever the NCAA wanted. The vacating of wins is the biggest joke. If I was

And this benefits the people that got molested how? It benefits their athletic program in a positive way how?

This is nothing more than a shat smearing exercise. Lets get Paterno, hes dead, and move on. We have our scapegoat.

Hey I'm just guessing that's why they did that. I won't begin to speak as to why that was done. Penn State might have been better off with a 1 year death penalty.

I wonder who is going to be making sure that the 60 mil is going to children in need? :lol

On second thought this could be my chance to make a college team at the ripe age of 32! :rock No one else will be trying out. :yess:

Necessary roughness Pt2!!!!!! :lol

Oh and saying they can transfer is a even bigger joke, they can't. Football starts in a couple weeks where are you transferring in a couple weeks and be ready to have a serious chance to start or play?
