The only thing that takes me out of it is the guy who plays Foggy. Stinks up the screen real bad.

I disagree. I actually liked him and he did the part well. Foggy has always been a good hearted, loyal, idealistic but kinda naive type of guy in the comicbook. The characterization was spot on.

Is this show's portrayal of Fisk/Kingpin accurate to the comics?

I haven't seen the Affleck Daredevil movie in forever, but I don't remember him being socially awkward/disturbed or sensitive at all. Just a generic big bad mob boss.

I wouldn't use that movie as any kind of reference. That movie was awful and socially awkward!

At the beginning I was a little apprehensive about his portrayal of Fisk, but as the movie progresses you can see his characterization unfolding. It was a brilliant move, and a lot closer to the interpretation of the Kingpin done by Frank Miller. Throughout the movie you even developed sympathy for the big guy, feeling sorry for his past and his upbringing. But at the last episode and through the turn of events, you can get to see his true colors. D'Onofrio was masterful!

One of the things I like about the show was the exploration of the similarities between Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk. They are both the product of Hell's kitcken, they both had strong father figures, they both have rage problems and they both want to save their city at all cost. Of couse, we can see that their outcome is the opposite of each other's, due to some key and important factors. Without a doubt, the writers did a superb job in including 50 years of fundamental Daredevil backstory into one season, laying the foundation for things to come. I definitely can't wait for season two!

Yeah, I mentioned earlier that I don't like that guy either. I'm hoping he gets killed off at some point of season two, for dramatic effect.

Foggy was fine. I have zero issue with him. Show has been good, if a little slow at times. But, boy, glad this is on Netflix and not ABC. We would have not gotten the 'car door' scene if it had

One episode to go. Got to late last night and I'm already out for work today. Can't wait to walk the final episode before GoT comes on.

So when is season 2! This show has completely made me excited for the other Netflix Marvel shows which I was lukewarm on.

Believe me. They saved the best for last. The last episode floored me! So well done.

Really loved it. Action was awesome, don't see the hate for the film though. A few minor faults sure; but not the fault of the actors. Large part was the film team and writers.

I was hesitant on this version of Kingpin but I liked it. Just not a fan of the shy awkward personality. Fisk never struck me as that, in comics, in cartoons, or games.

This is pretty much year one, Kingpin will be much different later on

You don't read comics, do you?

Well that means nothing really since the last two notable deaths were folks who are still alive. That being said I loved Foggy, I thought he played the part perfectly and was leaps and bounds better than Favreau :lol

That last episode is one that a lot of these show runners and some of the producers should watch. It was really well done.

Yeah, you saw it at the end staring at the wall with angry intent. Fisk is going to be much deadlier the second go around. The question is how much of a factor he'll be in Season 2.

They've set themselves up for The Hand nicely with Nobu's death and the Japanese thinking it was Daredevil.

They teased Elektra in one of the college flashback scenes

I was disappointed with the suit. I was hoping it would be a single, thin material that hugs is body tighter, like in the comics, and less body armor-y. Maybe it will change as the show progresses.

But boy, that ending was great. It was so satisfying to see him confront Fisk in the official Daredevil suit, even if I didn't like the design.

Man, it was hard to sit through the second episode... :monkey4
