I gotta get one. So much more interesting than so much other crap out there. Literal translations are good, but there's SO many, it's nice to have a crazy and fun item like this released.

I think we need some pics!

I agree that the price is a little too high (for my tastes anyway). But I do like this kind of figure. I've got the Jumbo Darth Vader Chubby as well as all the regular sized ones on order (on clearance at BBTS), and I also have all of the Mighty Muggs. I like the stylized stuff as well as the realistic ones.

crazy. $200?

To each their own... most of the world will pay much more than that for a tiny little diamond you can barely hold in between your fingers. Isn't that just as crazy? I could care less about the diamond and would never pay the kind of money that they seem to go for. This on the other hand interests me, so it is worth it to me. I know, I know, there are going to be people coming back and saying the two aren't even close to the same, blah, blah, blah, but to me they are. Some people spend a lot of money on jewelry, clothes, alcohol, cars, etc... I've just never understood why that seems to be "acceptable" to most, but spending money on a collectible isn't? And other collectors should be even more understanding than your average Joe on the street... so I ask, "Why is it crazy?"

Because he is right, and you are obviously wrong :lol

But seriously, that is a good point. Its all about what you like and what interests you.

To those complaining about $200, if you knew the market/cost you'd know that's an OK price. 1- Vinyl is made from petroleum, ya know? Oil? War? Big prices right now? 2- That toy is MASSIVE, 17" tall but think about the MASS of that thing THAT'S A LOT OF VINYL. 3- Overseas product. 4- Lucas charges for his name.

The raw material alone is expensive, even made in China, let alone the other factors. $200 isn't awful, but don't talk crap if you don't know/understand. Just gotta say 'not my thing' but to claim it's too expensive for what it is is to not know enough of the factors involved.

Many times, this fact is overlooked when it comes to price. The original VCD was 9" tall and this one is 17" tall, or about 2 times taller, so some think it should only be 2 times the price (original $60, so this one about $100 - $120). But you have to realize that double the scale is actually 8 times bigger in volume! For example, take the original at 9" tall and estimate it is 4.5" wide and 4.5" deep; this works out to 182.25 cubic inches (if it were a regular shaped cube). Now take the oversize VCD; 17" tall, by 8.5" wide by 8.5" deep = 1228.25 cubic inches! That is 6.75 times the volume (because it is not quite twice up in scale) of raw materials needed!!! :D

And from what I understand, vinyl of this quality is more expensive than ABS and Polystone.

The price is well warranted, a well informed consumer, is a smart consumer:D

But if your argument is "I don't like big cartoony versions of crap" than have at it, how can I argue that?:chew

Got my oversize Darth Vader VCD in!!! I love it! Got number 348 of 600; the edition number and size are printed on the bottom of his foot!!! This is a beautiful piece and it's too bad so many don't like it... but I do!!!

Do you have pics with it? :)

$200 is very worth it considering the size of this thing.

For something I have no interest in and have been ignoring up to this point, these posts are very well written and express ideas related to the entire hobby. Kudos. :clap :clap :clap

For you guys asking for pictures, I'll try to get some soon, but it may be the weekend before I am able to take any.
