No but seriously, all I ask when intering a thread is to keep it real, especially a Medi thread.Sure I screw around a little bit,but for the most part I'm keepin it real.I even gave SS Old ben the respect it deserves,so you know I'm not being a bias douche .

No man, it's just that you keep going on about it. Let's just let these threads get back on track. The Medi vs. Sideshow debate is so 07- you digg? :D:lol

i don't know if it was wise releasing this VCD overseas. Guaranteed in Japan, this will be seen as a designer toy. Designer vinyl toys, as you probably know, are massive over there. Loads of toy blogs are taken up with this kind of stuff and $200 wouldn't be a huge deal over there.

But in the US and UK, the market isn't as huge. There are definitely people who collect this stuff (like posterboykelly) but not so many. I think that's why the $200 price tag is shocking for a lot of people.

Personally, I love it. I don't see it as a toy or collectible. It's arty (not saying toys or collectibles aren't art but this is more like something someone who isn't into star wars or toys could buy as a one-off thing and put it on their living room table). If I had the cash I'd probably buy it. But I don't. So I won't. If I didn't have any other SW or toy stuff, I'd get this. But seeing as I do, I'd rather have the SS PF Vader.

oh and by the way. i'm kinda scared to say i like or dislike toys from any company anymore. except hot toys. everyone feels the love for hot toys:peace

ROTFLMFAO - ANOTHER thread that has absolutely NOTHING to do with Darth Maul or the the Medicom/Sideshow war that has been dragged in to the MedicomMaul/SideshowMaul battle! That is TOO funny. It is only a matter of time before the RebelScum bullies start checking out this website for some tips on how to be better haters!

Now thats where we differ - realism for me feels like art - Cartoon like and disproportionate feels like a kids toy

yeah i can see how people might think that. i do love the realism of 1/6 figs and the PFs. I was also considering that people who don't like SW might see a PF or 1/6 fig and not really be interested by it (although it's hard with the PF!). but something like this would turn heads, because it's a little different and unique. it has that ability to attract attention that art does. i think that's my point. this is a cool art piece and worth the price in japan where people like collecting weird cool stuff, not necessarily SW stuff. for collectors like us though, it might not appeal as much. a lot of us see art in realism (coz we value that in our other statues and figs).

i mean look at the enterbay bruce lees - they are pure art because they don't get more realistic than that.

I think it looks really good and if I had that kind of disposable income I just might get it but since I don't there are a lot of things I would rather have than that. Like the Yoda-Dooku Diorama.

Now this is crap! :D:lol

.

Noooo! You mustn't go on that pic...if you want to see some cool pics of Maul, who better than Maulfan???

Or, you could buy the figure...

It IS rather good...especially the Inclusive version...

I'm not saying that the Medicom version sucks, because it damn well doesn't...

BUT...

1. I can't afford it
2. It's not in scale with the other Sideshow figs
3. Where's your Medicom Probe droids??? (Joking!)

To quote the Futurama episode... “When you do things right, people won’t be sure you’ve done anything at all.”

Got my oversize Darth Vader VCD in!!! I love it! Got number 348 of 600; the edition number and size are printed on the bottom of his foot!!! This is a beautiful piece and it's too bad so many don't like it... but I do!!!
