Are you saying you'd rather have a Stan Lee cameo in this movie? I love Stan, but no thanks, he got a cameo on GotG, that's enough.

Nowhere in my post did I say or insinuate that I'd rather have Stan Lee make a cameo in this movie. I just stated that Liefeld isn't deserving of the same recognition as Stan Lee. That's JMO.

Liefeld is the butt of easy jokes, but he does deserve recognition for creating awesome characters.

Again that's a matter of opinion. One that I do not share.

Anyway I really don't care if Liefeld makes a cameo or not.

Seems like the real-life goings-on of the comics industry are an order of magnitude more ludicrous than the content of the comics themselves. FFS. Glad I stopped reading comics in the mid 80's. :)

Created by writer Fabian Nicieza and artist/writer Rob Liefeld,[7] Deadpool made his first appearance in the pages of The New Mutants #98, cover dated February 1991. According to Nicieza, Liefeld came up with the character's visual design and name, and Nicieza himself came up with the character's speech mannerisms.

I feel like George Perez, Marv Wolfman, and Keith Giffen are more deserving of cameos, considering than Liefeld.:lol
Are those guys all significantly more talented than Liefeld? Of course! But Liefeld did create the guy. For better or worse :lol

I just re-read his first appearance, and though he wasn't dour and stoic, his speech at that time certainly wasn't what it became later on. But then, his look also evolved significantly over time. But it wouldn't shock me if Liefeld delegated a lot of the writing to Nicieza there, who may well have fleshed out at least the early Deadpool personality.

Liefeld created 6,321 characters and 6,301 have been forgotten. The majority of which had pouches, shoulder pads and some kind of design around one or both eyes.

I don't think anyone will dispute this :lol

I guess if you throw enough crap at the wall, some of it will eventually take a form that is appealing to outside observers :lol

Cable is actually a pretty terrible idea for a character, as well as a terrible design IMO. Basically just huge, gritty, gun-toting bad-ass from the future. Kind of a slightly toned down, futuristic Punisher with stupid shoulder pads and white hair. Though he may well have been given more personality and better stories over the last 20-some-odd years that I'm not familiar with.

If I ever made a Cap movie I'd have a scene where he visits a cemetery to pay respects to his fallen war buddies that died after he got frozen. Then as he turns to leave he notices a tombstone with Jack Kirby's name on it, pauses, nods in respect, then continues on.

Is that an accurate number or is that just some random number for the sake of the joke? Six thousand characters is kind of impressive, even if they are forgotten.

Saw 'The Visit' last week and the trailer for this is shown. I originally saw the red band one and when the trailer for this starts up, I don't my woman that I'm told this is the role RR was born to play.

Well they played a PG13 version of the trailer...and it was way different than the red band. This almost packed theater....was dead silent. I told her I swear the one I saw made it look better.

This thing will prolly bomb......

I think the PG13 trailer for the Deadpool movie is borderline false advertising. How many parents do you think will take their kids to it, thinking it's just another Marvel movie?

I think you make a very good point. I can't help but think the PG13 trailer is highly irresponsible. For the non-savy parents taking their kids, they are going to be left feeling very angry and cheated. Should they be held responsible for researching the tone of the character? It's an interesting one.

Don't they put either Rated R or Rating pending in the trailers?

And yes, the parents should research every aspect of the movie, one quick google search should tell them it's not for kids.
