I think the PG13 trailer for the Deadpool movie is borderline false advertising. How many parents do you think will take their kids to it, thinking it's just another Marvel movie?
It is the parents job to watch what the rating is. This is no different than any other hard R movie greenband trailer. I wish more parents did their research instead of just assuming all Marvel or DC is kid friendly. I know there was talks of a Lobo movie and that will be just like Deadpool as a hard R....assuming this does well that is.

Why Google when the ****ing name has the word "dead" in it! :lol

My niece came home, she's 5, and said if I can show her Deadpool. I had to tell her that Deadpool is an adult hero. Since then, she never mentioned it. I do blame irresponsible parents, not so much the industry.

I imagine the first thing employees at the theater will ask parents when they show up with their 8 year old asking about Deadpool tickets is "you do know this movie is rated R right?"

Parents these days dont care. The theaters will be full of them little seat kicking bastards.

She must not watch Ultimate Spiderman then. My son just turned 5 and the Deadpool episodes are his fave. But no...he will not be going to see the movie. And yes, he has already asked me.

In that episode he doesn't swear and Spiderman prevents him from killing anyone.

And he tries, repeatedly.

It's the best episode of that show though.

I know. But the kids will just see DEADPOOL MOVIE and the parents may just see 'THAT GUY FROM THE SPIDERMAN CARTOON' movie and well...

Just more saying that Deadpool HAS been introduced to kids, and a milder version HAS been introduced to the parents of those kids. Those on the not-to-knowledgable side of things may think 'How bad can the movie be if he's in a kids show' and take their kids. That's all I was getting at.

I know where you're coming from.

But imo none of that takes away any responsibility from the parents and reverts it to the movie.

There are tons of characters that are not for kids, and have been introduced to kids, the Punisher was in the Spiderman Cartoon :lol. It's up to the parents to research what's best for their kids.

Modern parents make no sense to me. Most of them are Gen X or Gen Y, the same people who were raised by Baby Boomers and watching adult 80's and 90's films and tv shows, but now those people are so protective and concerned about what their kids watch. :lol It's reminds me of the world of Demolition Man.

That's what I've been thinking, with everybody being offended with everything :lol

Yes!! Not just overly sensitive people, but also the attention hungry idiots who want to antagonize those people. The Nostalgic Critic (Youtube guy) did a pretty good review/analysis of the film, and I think he's right. What I like is that neither the past or the future are perfect, because both have good things and bad things, and the hero of the film just wants there to be a balance and not to take things to an extreme.

I don't get the big deal. I saw my first R-rated movie when I was like 8, and I turned out...well, I turned out to be a degenerate, but that's neither here nor there.:lol

It's just society today sheltering kids too much. Heaven forbid if a kid sees a nipple or hears a dirty word.

I'm just waiting for all of the angry posts from parents aimed at Marvel after they mistakenly take their kids to see Deadpool. Because you know it will happen. I have a friend who works for Marvel and she's one of the people who has to read the angry emails whenever Marvel announces something controversial like "Thor is now a woman" or "Captain America is now black". Some of the stories she tells me.....it's hard to believe that people take time out of their day to send angry emails to Marvel. LOL

My 9 year old and I saw the Deadpool trailer at SDCC, he was so excited to see it, sooo badly wanted to see the movie. After they showed the trailer he looked up at me and said "Yeeeeahhhhh I'm not going to see that." Nope.

Replace Taco Bell with Starbucks.......

The film was also right about the obsession with health foods and companies and fast food restaurants not using certain products like oils or sugar for health reasons, just like in the Demolition Man future where a lot of foods were banned.

Yup, I grew up watching violent films, and sure, Murphy's death in Robocop traumatized me to the point that I still can't watch that scene, but over all, I'm pretty normal, and good citizen, with a mild addiction to porn and violent films with cool anti heroes. :D
