I had to laugh when they played an audio of Amare saying the Horry hit on Nash was one of the hardest fouls he has seen in his career.
I missed that. why did he bring that up?

Thank you Suns for getting the Spurs off our back a bit.. Now you may continue your losing..
In regards to shaq.. Did he have the same amount of points at the games end as he did at the end of the 1st?.. I watched the 1st qtr and the last 5 minutes..
who gives a ++++ about his points? the guy grabbed so many boards and played some pretty good D. Los Suns for the win!!! :chew
Lakers lost to the Kings.... what!?!?
Imo Suns defense may not be top notch, but Lakers have also been lacking in the defense department too.
Remember we are w/o our starting center..
As for our loss.. Horrible turn-over riddled start for us as well as a poorly called game.. Alot of fouls were not called at the end including Kobe's last shot at the buzzer for a win..
Can't win em all.. Tough loss.
There was no foul on that last play. Very good defense by Moore with a hand in Kobe's face. come on, accept the loss like a man, no need for excuses.
W/O your starting center, but what about the Suns? Doing a complete overhaul of their offense....You guys got Gasol who fits right in, no over haul needed, no transition period needed. No matter the excuse, this is a team you should not have lost to. Stop your whining.
You're right, we shouldn't have lost to these guys..
Gasol isn't a defensive center like Bynum..
If you see that last shot for the proper angle.. Moore hit Kobe's shooting arm on the follow through of his shot.. You being a basketball player know what that can do to your shot.. Wasn't a high five on his hand, he hit his forearm resulting in a short shot.. Could have been a foul, but wasn't called.. So gotta move on, not trying to whine.
Suns could have beat The Spurs at home w/ Marion too, no cause for too much celebration IMO..

IronFingaz - that stat looks good only for Oneal because they did not count blocked shots in the era of Wilt and Russell. Believe me, nobody ever played the hole like Bill Russell. And if they counted offensive fouls they way the rules say they are suppose to, Oneal would have a full five points and three rebounds per game less than he does now. What he was allowed to do out there in the paint bordered on assault. But we have a commish who believes that every night in the NBA the stars must shine brightly so there are different sets of rules for different players. Oneal was a huge benificiary of that policy.

Gimme a break folks. I watched Oneal come into this league as a big fat kid who barely knew the rules of the game. But he did not have to know them because they were selectively enforced for him year after year. He was allowed to use his body far more agressively than almost any other center I have ever seen........ and I have been watching them for nearly 50 years going back to Chamberlain and Russell. There always were big men who tried to bull their way to the hoop but refs blew the whistle for such tactics. For Oneal - that was relaxed and often ignored altogether. Oneal was so much the bull in the china shop.
Please folks, no lectures about how the game is played. I also played the game, coached the game, and have watched it since the days before the ABA threw up the old red, white and blue.
I never like Oneal. Did not like him for any team. And now they take one of my favorite teams that I truly enjoyed watching and ruined that. For me, watching Phoenix now is like you had a favorite drinking well on your property and just watched one of your enemies peeing in it.

Nash - you are 28 years old which means your collective memory of basketball barely goes back to the early 90's. So please my friend do not talk to me about how the game used to be because you were not there to see it.
I would highly recommend that you read the book THE RIVALRY by John Taylor. Its a great book which details the careers of Russell and Chamberlain and the league and what it was like. Believe me, the league before those two was much rougher and dirtier than it ever has been since. Read it and find out.
Much has been written and talked about the changes wrought by David Stern as commissioner. This is not from me but has been well established in many books. Stern is a believer in the STAR SYSTEM of basketball. He saw the league prosper under Bird and Magic, and then Jordan, and assumed that it was stars that fans would pay to see. The game was changed, the rules were enforced differently, and the game has never been the same since.
How can you judge something if you are not informed about its history?
