I'm just glad its carrying on directly after season 4. Will it be able to top it? I doubt it but It will just be great to have Dexter back.

I'm sure the Rita thing won't be anything big, probably just a little something to help the new fans get on board with whats' been going on and also a good way to remind everybody of Rita's importance to the story since it's so f'ing long of a wait between seasons!

I've always wanted to see Doakes comes back in the place of Harry for at least one season, that could be awesome.

Oh, and I think they really do need to have another lead bad guy! They don't have to try to top Lithgow, just make a character that is very interesting and very different from the Trinity Killer.

It would be torture, but to see Rita's final moments with Trinity would make for good television.

Flashbacks is probably what they're gonna do. After all, when we start season one, their romance is already begun so it could all be Dexter remembering moments or wondering how Rita would have done things. As for Stiles, how about Rita's sis? Could work out!

For the bad guy, the way I understand things is we're going to have to face several, so how about some criminal cult or something?

I've been reading the books and the show is alot better but I like how they co-exist. The books follow their own story and plot and the show does it's thing. It's cool to see how different they are. Aside from the first book the show is nothing like them. The first book was basically season one.

I think every Dexter fan here is the same and the wait for the new season is brutal.

I'm in the middle of season 2 & have season 3 waiting...then I'll have season 4 in august lol

Odds are big bad. Season 5 is supposed to pick up right after season 4, when he is still going to be dealing with the death of his wife. People might be a bit confused (and suspicious) if he jumps right into the dating world when the body isnt even cold yet.

They already had a love-interest/big-bad with Lila....don't think the writers would copy that again, they're cleverer than that

New to the show. Saw it for the firstime this week. I love the first 2 seasons. Need to pick up season 3. I have some catching up to do.

There is definatly a slip in quality after Season 2. Season 3 was filled with side plots that went nowhere, and seemed to shift the focus away from Dexter somewhat and spend way too much on the personal lives of the police.
But it definatly recovers in Season 4, which was pretty damn good.

For me, it goes Seasons: 2,4,1,3 (even though 2,4,1 are pretty much tied with 3 in the back)
