She's shilling way too much for what she's really saying, and I'm a fan of her, but yeah, more of it and less anime fights would've been better.

I hope I live to see a movie written by Morrison.

I thought that it was definitely better than Thor but, for some reason Thor had more staying power, nobody's talking about this anymore, not even MCU fans, hype didn't last 3 days after release.

I've rewatched the third eye sequence a lot on the internet though, the movie should've been all like that, it's great.

Really? That's interesting. I still see people talking about it everywhere. Especially the MCU fans. Lots of people are loving the movie from what i'm seeing, and still growing.

... Hype is ded.

Strange laughs at death :monkey3

Then there's score. It's bland and forgetable as ****. Giacchino has a bit of talent to create good music but for the most part he sucks ass (outside of the animated stuff for kids).

This. ****ing A, this. This pissed me off so much, because this was a ****ing playground for a composer to develop a phenomenal score. There was SO much potential to this score; it needed heavy eastern string influence in the initial portion which transitioned to western classical influenced pieces laced with modern film weightiness. It made some cool choices - I actually like the harpsichord rendition of the "theme" (more on that) and the slightly retro vibe that harkens back the the drug fueled era of creation for the character. These are fine factors that could have made this not only unique but one of the best scores for the MCU (not like that would be hard, but still).

That being said, and bear in mind, the film is edited in a way that hides this REALLY well - but this score largely is a rehash of Giacchino's Trek scores. The "theme" is nearly tone for tone rehash of Trek. You have to listen to the score away from the film to pick up on this, but it irks me every time because it's not a one time oops; it appears in every instance possible. A great sample of this is "Strange Days Ahead".

At this point that leaves Thor: TDW as Marvel film score king, in my opinion. Nothing had topped that - and it's a crime that they didn't continue to use Brian Tyler's Marvel Studios title opener that debuted in TDW.

I may have guessed wrong - but if the way you made note of it makes me think you at least listen to scores more than the average viewer as well. You might appreciate this great analysis of the MCU's music and why it's the biggest flaw they have right now.

Man, what a relief to read all these post. I thought I was the only one in the universe who thought that this movie was very bland and very forgettable. Actually, the more I think about it, the worse it gets.

saw this last weekend in imax3d. While the 3d was cool the overall movie was very bland and forgettable. Me and my friends rolled a nice blunt beforehand too, because this movie was supposed to be sooo trippy, definitely disappointed in that area. I had a bunch to say when I first saw it, but I honestly don't remember much.

I saw it yesterday. 6-6.5 from me. My least favorite Marvel movie so far. Some of the "trippy" parts that were mentioned above reminded me of Lawn Mower Man. Also thought it was very telling that a 5 o'clock showing on the 2nd weekend had less than 30 people in the theater.

Same here.

Upon my first viewing I gave it a 7.5/10. After a week of digesting it, I'm down to a 7/10.

Yeah this movie has been forgotten already. :cuss

Oh wait!

Dropping only 49% in its second weekend, Disney and Marvel's Doctor Strange delivered an impressive $43 million in its second weekend as the film's domestic gross climbs to over $153 million in just ten days of release. Among Marvel's single-character intro features this is the second fastest title to top $150 million domestically, behind only 2008's Iron Man. Additionally, Strange's 49% second weekend drop is the best second weekend hold among the last ten Marvel Cinematic Universe titles.

Strange also added an estimated $60.2 million internationally bringing its overseas total to $339.6 million, passing the lifetime international cumes of The Incredible Hulk ($129m), Captain America: The First Avenger ($194m), Iron Man ($266m), Thor ($268m), Iron Man 2 ($310m) and Ant-Man ($339m). Overall, Strange's worldwide gross is now just shy of $500 million.

Adding to the success, Disney has now secured its best year on record at the domestic box office with $2.3 billion, surpassing its previous record high of $2.278 billion set in 2015. This is in addition to what is Disney's biggest year ever internationally and globally with titles such as Moana and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story still awaiting release.

Just proves that The Incredible Hulk, Captain America: The First Avenger, Thor, Iron Man 2 and Ant-Man are crap.
