Jesus.

This girl is a God damn genius. She just beautifully deconstructed why Feige's formula is a steaming pile of dog **** and how the fandom has finally figured out that there's nothing new or original coming out of the MCU anymore.

My fav part is when she compares the future of the MCU to Doc Strange's battle with Dormammu - a bland, repetitive, safe encounter with the same formula over and over and over.

IMO the MCU began its descent into mediocrity with IM3, somehow allowed the fluke of quality that were TWS & GOTG and then pretty much died afterwards with everything since AOU.

That’s very cute. Ah, youth. It’s funny how she has finally peeked behind the curtain and thinks she has discovered something no one else has ever known. It’s not like these characters have not existed since the 1940s. And it’s not like literary archetypes have not been around forever, just like she herself points out. LOL glad you finally caught up! Now that you know the “secret”, enjoy the ride!

I will say she has a good point in saying that it’s a mess when all these similar characters get together. I’ve often thought that in the comics. I remember being excited about the original Secret Wars way back when, seeing all the superheroes and villain all in one place. But when actually reading it, found it really lame. All the characters were reduced to their own personal stereotypes with no depth.

She is adorable though.

Haha yes I know it's a summer block buster movie, but even the comics themselves handle topics much more controversial then their movies I know they play it safe, but like the reveal about the ancient one that could have had far more impact. Don't get me started on civil war that was a shadow of what it was in the comic they really broke ground in that comic it's a shame to have it watered down in the movie

When people talk about the MCU being formulaic and mediocre, what are they saying about the DC films? Are are we comparing to the fox films? Or the Nolan batman films?

I'd be thrilled if BvS was at decent MCU quality. Nolan Bats is a different level but they don't feel like comic films. Fox has had some winners especially recently, but they've also had some of the worst ever.

Just as films in general. They weren't always mediocre, its a pattern that started mildly with Thor (2011) & Cap: TFA (2011) but didn't fully take a defined form until IM3. Now its just the prevalent signature of the films with occasional sporadic bursts of quality material (TWS & GOTG).

Hum well to each his own I enjoyed it, however if we just look at the movie in comparison they watered it down tremendously and this is the main issue I have will marvel no cause and no consequence. Any issue can and will be resolved like it was just a misunderstanding it's serves the movie world and that is why I prefer the comic since they can handle these topics and take it to another level. I felt the death of Captain America and the scene were Tony is having a confession with Steve body was ,very powerful about how being "practical and comprising" and the opposite with Steve were he was firm and never comprised on what he belived in.
