Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

Believe me, I am no artist, by any means - just a person who spends way too much time looking at action figures :lol. But, I agree, that this head-sculpt looks better than the statues that Sideshow has released. In my opinion, in terms of accuracy, even Hot Toys' worst sculpt, is better than Sideshow's best. But, of course, the head-sculpt of the DX10 is far from being horrible - it's just inaccurate in certain proportions.

.

Sorry mate but the T2 and T1 PF's headsculpt along with the Enterbay one are much better than any HT Arnold likeness. You have seriously wrong eyes if you are serious about this. HT T2 Arnold vs Trevor's T2 sculpt? Really?

even though I'm getting this for me the original mms still beats any Arnie figure on the market and that includes the enterbay one!!

Guys are you really serious or just joking? The enterbay one is a much better figure and it is actually very-very close sculpt wise to the real thing. I like only the HT T1 Tech Noir version, but still even that can't come close likeness wise.

I agree with everything you said. I find that the only people here that actually think that the Hot Toys figure is better and has a better sculpt never seen the Enterbay figure up close. If you can't see that the Enterbay figure is superior than there is not hope for you. It's not a matter of opinion, it simply is what it is. That is not only one of the best likeness of Arnold EVER, it has also set a new level of quality for action figures.

I argee I think the enterbay 1:4 scale version does have a more accurate sculpt than the HT terminator 2 T-800, but the HT t1 t-800 imo is the best sculpt of arnie ever.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

You know T2 isn't the greatest movie out there but watching it opening weekend in Los Angeles the summer before my senior year in high school and seeing Arnold kick the desk through the glass and start unloading on all those police cars was one of the most exhilirating cinematic moments I'd ever experienced, and this is coming from someone who grew up with the first runs of Star Wars and E.T.

Ordered. I don't know how I'll be able to swing it, but for now it's in my queue.

Maybe not the but definitely one.

Wow, was that hair panel really necessary? He doesn't even have a neck post. They could have easily made that accessible from under his head like the DX 02 Batman. It baffles me why they wouldn't add a magnet to the head and neck.

Now, not only is the head hollow from the PERS, he has a removable hair panel in the back of his head AND another removable panel at the top that produces a fairly large hole. This will probably be one of the lightest, most delicate headsculpts to date. I can see major QC problems here.

Still, the chip removal feature is pretty damn cool. I just can't believe the space in the back of the head with his hair.

The facial features do look a little better, I must admit. The PERS panel is pretty bad though and he's still really light on accessories and features. I might give in later down the road. There's no reason to preorder it though.

Do you understand what it means to have an objective opinion? No need to throw insults and get worked up because you happen to disagree with others on the Internet :dunno.

Everyone has their own preference on which figures they prefer. So far, there hasn't been a single company (Sideshow, Hot Toys, or Enterbay) that has managed to produce a completely accurate Arnold figure. In my opinion (understand?) Hot Toys' sculpt does look much better than Sideshow's. While the Sideshow statues do have some semblance to Arnold, I find that the faces are too elongated and narrow, and the paint textures too glossed over, giving the impression of a somewhat cartoonish look.

As for Enterbay, they're far from being perfect themselves. To me, the forehead on the Enterbay T-800 is too large, producing an "egg-head" shape head-sculpt. Now, in terms of whether Enterbay or Hot Toys produced the better T-800s, I honestly can't say, and nor do I want to get into such a discussion. Both, are fantastic in their own ways.

Those are really nice pics, it really is a beauiful piece, can't wait to get it!

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

I'm sorry but WTF is that? Why is his head split in half? And people slag off the mould seams on Neca figures.

I'm sure it'll look better on the final figure but still.....wtf.

While the Sideshow statues do have some semblance to Arnold, I find that the faces are too elongated and narrow.

And yet the HT ones have the opposite problem. Perhaps somewhere in between is the ideal.

I think that shape is created more by the hair than the forehead. Its just too cleanly rounded off all over.

It looks as if there are two splits. One in the head-sculpt from the PERS access panel, and the other split looks like a cracked neck-post. I've seen a few Hot Toys figures with cracked neck posts before... it's definitely a QC issue.

Edit: I might be wrong though.

Now that you meantion it, that pic of the back of the head looks really shi......y hope they fix that:(

I agree on everything. Man... with all of the professional artists working on Arnold's face, you'd think that they'd at least be able to give us a figure that actually looks like him :lol.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

It's not a cracked neck. It's the seam between the headsculpt and the neck. The angle makes the back panel and the head seam look like one big split.

Agreed. I see huge problems coming from this sculpt. Appearance is going to suffer greatly with all these seams.:cuckoo:

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

I don't think there is gonna be any fixing going on. Pics from MILK like that are generally production pieces, aren't they? I'm guessing this figure will be released sooner rather than later. The sunglasses look kind of silly there, but maybe he just needs to be futzed.

Well most of them look like him its just no one sculpt ever seems to get everything right and thats a tad frustrating. Where one sculpt corrects the flaw of another it messes up on something else.

That SS Dutch PF looks the best of any Arnie sculpt I've seen but even there...its SS, the paint is simply not going to be as good as what HT manages at a smaller scale and that could hamper its likeness.

IMO the final product will be really good. HT's has received a lot of criticism on FB about this figure so I think they'll step their game up because they really want to out do EB. With that being said I ordered with some SS credit I had. Another Arnold to add to the collection.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

because they really want to out do EB.

If that was the case, if they truly wanted to trump EB and could manage that, I think you would've seen it in the announcement pictures.
