Well, there is a lot of high praise for the HT version from a large amount of individuals. You have to factor that in when trying to make sense of where we are now.

That said, some of the shots that I have seen of the HT version are really good but others are not. What we have seen from EB so far looks more "real" as I can assume do to a better paint job. The eyes on the EB will also be key. The HT has that "staring into the nothingness" look in some shots while, again, the EB looks a bit more "real".

1) people who have already bought Hot Toys Version or Enterbay Version. For this group, people already paid a lot of money for the Action Figure. Some of the Hot Toys buyers already received the Action Figure and others don't. This type of group is very influenced by the money already compromised. In my opinion, a large amount of people of this group won't admit they made the wrong choice.

Or, you know, they could genuinely feel that they made the right choice.

HT looks much better, ,,is not even fair!
EB looks off,.,, he looks too chubby and wtf happened to the eyes???? :horror ,..can he see anything with eyes that small??? :lol

his head also seems huge compared to the body!!

Wooow, what a lot of passion here!
Well, in my opinion, some facts explain why there is lot of argument.

I will try to define some groups of persons:
1) people who have already bought Hot Toys Version or Enterbay Version. For this group, people already paid a lot of money for the Action Figure. Some of the Hot Toys buyers already received the Action Figure and others don't. This type of group is very influenced by the money already compromised. In my opinion, a large amount of people of this group won't admit they made the wrong choice.

2) people who haven't bought yet (either HT or EB): This group of people have not paid for the AF, but there is a lot of influence of the future price of the AF. If there will a clear difference in the quality of the versions, there will be a clear difference in the prices. If the majority of people will think the EB version is better, the price will goes up than the current price of 170-190 dollars.

In my opinion, the photos published by EB are very unclear and it is not possible to judge until now. The best judgement will be in person, not in photos.

I belong to the group 2 and I confess a lot of anxiety. I didn't like so much the Hot Toys version, but I confess that I can regret in the future if I change my mind. I have a lot of hope that EB will satisfy my personal appreciation. But if it fails, I won't buy neither version.

Meh.. you forgot Group #3: People who have ZERO desire to own a figure of "The Godfather" (or most human figures) but can still give an unbiased opinion of which figure looks better, etc. And I would fall into that category.

As many have noted, there is something that doesn't quite work with the eyes - I think it's that they're too small and too widely spaced. I also don't like the material selected for the jacket and waistcoat lapels - I know they were going for a shiny/different look to the rest of the suit, but the fabric weave is far too large to work in scale. Everything else? Looks fantastic. I still think I'll end up getting the HT version - it's just a shame that the paint job on that one, while awesome, isn't as great as the EB.

EDIT: I just realised it looks like the bow-tie doesn't have a "real" band but is just suck on a piece of black elastic - that's a pretty crappy solution too. The jacket button seems a touch over-sized too...hmm, the more I look at it, the less I'm liking the outfit!

Don't these comments place you in group 3? Enterbay diehards who will prefer and defend the EB version no matter what.

Maybe there are some people who bought the HT version and genuinely like it better.

Group 4. I already laid out the criteria for Group 3:

Meh.. you forgot Group #3: People who have ZERO desire to own a figure of "The Godfather" (or most human figures) but can still give an unbiased opinion of which figure looks better, etc. And I would fall into that category.

:D

What's all this about Hot Toy's paint job being terrible? It's one of the most fantastic paint jobs I've ever seen on a figure, and honestly I can't see a bit of difference in quality between Hot Toys and Enterbay's paint.

Are people saying it is terrible? I don't think so. It's fantastic, but held up against Enterbay's work, it isn't quite there (from seeing the photos, mind you). Granted, it's too early to lay on the praise, but I'm judging from their past work. I own their Jack Bauer, and the work on that head is above any of the Hot Toys figures I own. I wish the rest of the Jack figure were up to snuff though...

the only thing i don't like from HT version is the mouth part.
it looks...... weird.
EB got it better.

If Hot toys didn't come out with a godfather figure, everyone would be raving at enterbays godfather, and probably not complaining about it much or at all. Though , yes the face is a little puffy, but not so much that it ruins the figure.

Well, right now we are at the point where people can compare the HT in hand and with the EB pictures only. HT has the edge that it released a very nice product first and whoever bought it will defend how great it is (and rightfully so).

That's most of what we are seeing right now.

We can talk about EB puffy eyes and HT blank stare soul-less look all we want. We can also go on and on about a superior likeness vs a superior more realistic paint job. Unless someone is holding both figures in hand all these comments are just first impressions based on pics with a little bit of fanboy-ism thrown in for good measure.

I bought the HT's version and like it more because I am biased and a liar about how good it is over the EB version  Grow up children.

I have been dying to own an EB product since first seeing how well they nail Lee's likeness but they fell short. Get over it, its a damn opinion.

No you grow up... YOU GROW UP! *jumps up and down*

The only person that is talking about HT blank stare eyes is you! Looks very fine to me and to everyone that own this figure,....very real and far from being blank or souless,...

eb makes some very fine figures, ...but HT did it better this time

And me. I said he looked goofy, but I was being harsh. SLF said it better. If you'd like I can post pics from the Hot Toys thread to indicate the soul less look, if you're not understanding what we mean.
