Actually there's quite a few differences eg,

The alternate face on the Takara version is unique. The Hasbro version is basically a repaint of the Starscream version of mold as it has the exact same faces.

The eyes on the Takara are red whereas the Hasbro's are yellow.

The shades of black and purple used on each version are different.

The various markings on the plane mode are very different. The Hasbro version is like the G1 Skywarp toy, and the Takara is more of a realistic style ( aside from the color of course.)

I was referring to the actual mold itself. But I didn't know about the face, that's interesting. And yeah I agree I think Hasbro's is slightly better in this case. I saw a couple for 15 bucks last week, makes me feel like a dope for shelling out 60. :(

OK, I wasn't sure so I just posted what differences I knew, the basic mold is indeed the same.

Skywarp was my first MP Seeker but now I've got him I'll have to get the G1 colored MP Starscream as well.

Does he come with the Megatron gun or is the one I see the toy holding in many pics just the one that came with MP Prime?

The U.S. version of Starscream did not come with the Megatron gun, so you needed the one that came with Prime. I assume that the Japanese version was released with the same accessories (it apparently used the same packaging), though I don't know for sure.

OK thanks for the info.

You are correct. The only difference between Hasbro MP Screamer and the Takara one are the sticker on the Takara box and the Takara one has a Decepticon logo on the nose cone, thats it.

All versions of MP Starscream have the same accessories. Personally I think Green Scream is the best of the bunch, visually anyway, he does appear to be made of a more brittle plastic though.
The G1 Megatron gun does only come with MP Prime and Ultra Magnus (which comes in Megatron's Diaclone colors).

On a completely different subject, does anyone know how much a MIB or MISB Takara Ultra Magnus reissue goes for? I am thinking about tracking one down.

The G1 colored Takara doesn't have the battle damage like the Hasbro one does.

Yeah its not worth the extra. Just buy some of that stuff, damp a cotton swab with it and rub it over the battle damage and it'll wipe off like old make up.

I think I did something similar with a Star Wars figure when I used to customise them.
