My only problem with flippers is they raise the editions on eveything, i.e PF Biker Scout, which lost value becuase of this. But I don't see this piece hitting grail status, the Yoda Bronze can be found for a good deal. Now Marvel is another level, thats flipping paradise.

No, The only reason the biker scout and most other SS collectibles lose their value is because of SS's TBD edition sizes.

Got my 4

Don't know what my aunt and unkle are going to do with these though.

...j/k i don't collect LOTR

That's the first time I've gotten something this exlusive from sideshow. I missed outon the Grey Hulk PF, Grey Hulk dio, Yoda vs. Dooku and pretty much all the others. Sometimes you get lucky, most of the time you don't.:monkey1

How and where you make a profit is irrelevant. If you buy a $125 statue and sell it two years later for $500 you've just made a $375 profit.

If you buy a $125 statue and sell it two minutes later for $500 How much money have you made?...exactly...$375 Who cares if it takes you two years or two minutes?...you are still making money! And you know what, that's what a democratic, free market system is all about.

Never mind, aparently you don't get it. I'm not talking about money, I'm talking about a feeling of enjoyment you get when you have a certain figure/statue whatever. Aparently it doesn't work for you like that. Such a shame.

For me, collecting isn't all about money. It's about enjoying my collection, and sometimes some pieces are enjoyed more than others.

No, because flippers cancel once the edition is too high, duh.

Collectors collect, the Flipper collects to sell.

So once again: I'm not against people selling things with a profit, all I'm saying is that I would have enjoyed seeing ALL these 50 pieces go to people who really want the piece, instead of it ending up at someone who only bought it to sell it on with a big profit and is not interested in the piece itself.

If I'm going to buy something at an inflated price I'd rather it NOT have been displayed in some chump's home for a while. Send that sucker to me Mint in Box please. ;) Don't worry, all 50 pieces WILL go to people who REALLY want them. If you're concerned about paying more than it retailed for at least you'll have the assurance that you can always liquidate it for as much or more than you paid for it down the road.

Thank you. That's exactly my point. :duh SS allows the ES's to get too high by not announcing the numbers for weeks on end. A problem they could easily solve by setting the ES before per-orders begin, and by limiting purchases to one /person for all item's. Don't blame the flippers for being smart enough to know when to abandon a sinking ship.

Collectors collect, the Flipper collects to sell.

Translation : Flippers flip, collectors flip, collectors are too dumb to know they're flipping :duh

Exactly, and at the end of the day isn't that all that really matters :D

Hey Woodsy it has been a while since we have seen you around. Must be that time again to fight about the ethics of flipping. :lol:rolleyes:

Seriously, this is the same conversation this board has seen a hundred times or more. What's the point? No one is convincing anyone or changing anyone's mind. :monkey1

So very true! I guess I'm just not part of the morally superior socialist elite.....:lol

Actually I buy plenty of stuff just to see what it looks like in person. I enjoy looking at plenty of these items because pictures are not the same. I also cannot justify keeping some of this stuff when I know I can resell it for more than I paid. Do I have any intention of keeping this dio? No. Does that mean I won't enjoy it for the short time I have it. No. I really can't wait to see this item in hand.

If anything, SS' choice to throw this 50-piece announcement in a newsletter without warning, is as low and as bad as Gentle Giant when they do their Comic-Con Exclusive lottery. I don't care about the fine discussion of flipping. I'm just not happy with how SS decides to go about it. I wasn't happy when they did this with Grey Hulk, and Negative Zone Spidey. I doubt there's not anyone here who won't agree that clicking on the Newsletter refresh button doesn't feel the same as mad-rushing the line at GG's Comic-con booth. Then again, if you haven't been to Comic-con, that is ONE experience you don't look forward to. :emperor

I'll get off my soapbox now.
