I thought the same thing, Mesa. But I saw some other pics of the painted version which showed the colors more brightly and less "dull". Those pics won me over. (They were at the Shadow and Flame forum.)

maybe it's just me, but it seems like the truly epic scenes/battles/characters tend to look better in bronze. granted, it isn't real bronze, but faux will do quite nicely on this piece.

SSC is really having a hard time establishing their FB's it seams to me; there's not much positive critics for them. And that for a collectible with a very low ES (50-75 and 100). If the colored versions sell so well, I wonder why SSC has taken this step in the first place. I'm curious if we'll see more FB's from SSC in the future. Perhaps it was all just a ephemeral fashion gimmick...? Looks like one most really be into this FB thing to want them.
