re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I've never really been into custom figure collecting myself, but I can understand the draw. I'm a pretty mainstream collector, but there are a few Resident Evil characters I wish I could make here and there. Maybe the girl from Predators too.
That's the thing--my real interests in film characters are more out of the collecting mainstream, but are right up the alley of a handful of other high end collectors that are able to get custom projects going. I've got to pay more, sure, but I'm way more satisfied with an Alien Ripley, Vincent Vega, Dude Lebowski, and Hannibal Lector on the shelf than, uh, 15 more Iron Men and Joker figures.

That last blue square lines up nicely...

Guess it depends on what figures you plan to bash?

Standard ANH versions. Just upgrading the original portraits.

If going with the classic ANH looks; I'd definitely get a fixed neck body for Han. I used a Soldier Story for mine, and although the shoulders are a bit too broad, overall the body looks great for Han and is quite affordable ($20 or so).

Luke's a bit tricky as there aren't any short bodies with a fixed neck; I think quite a few people are found of the Slim TT; but I personally think they're too tall. I ended up using a Pro 1.0 for Luke and aside from the boring neck joint the rest looked quite good and it's an affordable option.

That's a start. Thank you. :duff

So sad to hear about Richard LeParmentier. I met him at a con a few years back and he was just so cool. He also loved working with the 501st. :(

Very sad indeed. I met him at least twice, and got pics with him choking me. And his autograph on his figure. He was truly a nice person. He would talk to you, and clearly was having fun, enjoying the ride. It was a pleasure to have met him. May he rest in peace, along with Peter Cushing in heaven's eternal Death Star...

Waller's photos are quite entertaining. But difficult to top! Until the next Slutty Ewok comes along...
