I am so amptd for this movie! :rock :rock I cannot wait to see it. I just ordered the 19" neca Jason from the remake on friday and it's coming thursday. I'm seeing this movie at 12:01 a.m. thursday night so I'm seeing the very first showing of it and my figure comes the same day I go to see it,perfect timing. I wasn't risking the tickets selling out so I fandango'd them mothers :lol

12:01...that would be FRIDAY!!!

Saw this tonight at the Atlanta screening. I liked it, and it's definitely the best F13 flick in a long time... but I must admit it doesn't have quite the edge or freshness that the TCM remake did. Also, the score is just poop. Generic modern horror stuff with barely any of Manfredini's original themes. Not one of Jablonsky's finer moments.

Jared Padelecki is very good here. Probably my favorite role of his.

There are 13 kills in the movie (or 14, if you count Pam Voorhees in the flashback set-up) but they're not all spoiled by the trailer.

Nice. The score was never really that good in the first place. Very generic. But it worked. Does it work in the context of the film?

I suppose. It's more like ambience and Sound FX than anything else. Even the "chi chi chi, cha cha cha..." is only used a couple of times... and not to very good effect, either.

Some of the kills are great, though. And at least one is pretty damn new and inventive.

Oh, the other unexpected (but not necessarily bad) thing: they barely show unmasked Jason at all. I'm talking original HALLOWEEN, if even that.

Hwy all, I was just on the comics2film site and they are doing this feature... 13 Faces of Jason... draw by various professional. It ticked over my imagination and I dicided to to my own version... It's a quick 15min sketch...

Now, mine isn't from any movie or anything else, its more of a combination...

I hope you like it... Added the colour on the fly... :)

I saw this at the Metrion in SF last night. I agree with Irish Jedi on the score. I was hoping for a few Manfredini's score hits. If you re watch the original, the score only comes up when someone is about to die. Very effective. I did enjoy the opening sequence. Also, I will say there were moments from the first batch of films tossed in. The settings were a mixture of pt1-4 & 7. A few dashes of TCM remake & House of 1,000 Corpses tossed in. I give it a neutral review. Out of all the Horror remakes, I would rank Dawn of the Dead & Hills Have Eyes over this. If you are a fan, such as I, go see it. Good effects on the death scenes.
