I have him off all my friends lists so I can't tell when he is on anyways. When I would see his avatar it made me want to get in the truck. So I removed it.

It's not a lag switch issue. Those are very uncommon... it's not like the odds where you'd play 15 matches in a night, and in 6 of those matches, the other team has a player using a lag switch. I'd say more like 1 in 30... at the most.

It's an issue with how Epic made the matchmaking and hosting system. Been that way since Gears 1, and seems to have gotten worse on Gears 2.

It's easy to tell when someone is using one. What you see is someonewalking along and suddenly they go into the "slow walk" and you can't kill them. Then, suddenly they disappear and are behind you and kill you. That's if they leave it on for several seconds. Wht you'll also see if that you're about to shoot someone and they flat out disappear and once again are behind you ( withing 2-3 seconds ) and they switch it off and kill you.


Those are lag switch users and with videos on youtube on how to make them for about $3, there are a lot of people using them.

Some of it is just getting your ass kicked by host and we all understand that's just gonna happen, but there are a lot more lag switchers out there then there used to be.

I believe you, but I seriously doubt you're encountering them nightly.

It's the game. I don't see it on any other shooter that i've played lately (say, COD4, COD:WAW, Battlefield: BC, Killzone 2, etc).

Well, we do see them nightly, but not EVERY match. It's getting to be fairly often though. If it's not a lag switch then someone is using another type of glitch to exploit the game. Once again it just boils down to people cheating which it VERY frustrating.


I can't go back to Halo 3 because I don't own it. That game had people going into standby which was just as frustrating.

Seems there are two groups with differing opinions on the update. Played some Public with Dee, Lonnie, Jon and Robert and we were kicking ass and having fun. The shotgun to me seems more responsive and in about 10 matches only saw the 2 Piece once at the most. I didn't experience any lag issues and we didn't run into any cheaters either, oh and the ranking system is much better.
