I mean getting the maile shirt which Dwing suggested will be the last bit on my list.
Pardon the slight deviation from topic, but I said I'd post some refs of Dragon's armoured figures for anyone who doesn't already have 'em. Sorry for the quality of the pics, they were taken in bad light. Anyway, from left to right, they are Lord Arnaut and De Kere (from Timeline), and Olaf the Viking.
De Kere's armour is the simplest of the two knights, however, Lord Arnaut comes with lots of mail pieces and would be the better choice of the two, imo. He's got two mail coifs and mail leggings, in addition to the coat and arm sleeves. He has plate pauldrons and his gauntlets also have fingers, whereas De Kere has the mitten-type gauntlets. His plate armour is also more "generic-looking" than De Kere's, and could be useful for a Gondorian soldier or even a Ringwraith custom.
Olaf's coat of mail is roomier than the others and laces up the back. The only downside is the attached sleeves, which severely restrict shoulder movement. Those could be removed, of course. He also comes with a mail coif and helmet that could be used for a Rohirrim soldier custom.
Sounds about right WG. Like I said, next to Sideshow he is fine and size is really the only distraction.
I do have a question... Would Frodo or Sam's elven cloak work on him? What do you think?
I wish my Hobbits weren't in storage I would did one out and check it to see if the cloak hangs too short on him.
I would have but my tracking info said he wasn't going to be delivered until Monday so I didn't bother bringing a camera today.
Monday I plan to strip him down and take lots of detailed pics. I figure the more we know about the body the easier it will be to plan.
MONDAY is GIMLI Day!
i find this disturbing. especially with gimli's expression.
Thanks for the pictures!
You see what I mean about the Toybiz one being so much shorter.
And the wide shoulders on the DiD look to be a result of the shoulder articulation that swings the arm out & downward.
