I don't think they should dial the camp back, at all. They picked a direction, now they need to stick with it.

Yeah, People picked on the Nolan Batman because it wasn't "comic book campy" enough and now people are complaining because this is too "comic book campy."

I think that's why I hated the show so much, in the beginning. They tried to tow the line between West-era camp and Bale-era grit, and you just can't have it both ways. The second they threw caution to the wind and picked a direction was the second I started enjoying it. Would I have preferred they go in the other direction and give us a gritty, Gotham Central-esque police procedural? Absolutely, but I feel like, for what it is, Gotham's turned into an extremely entertaining show.

I don't know, to me it feels like I'm watching a Saturday Morning Cartoon but with actors and ocassional graphic scenes. It's not bad per se, but I was expecting something more "mature" from the show. It's neither Daredevil (all out gritty) nor Flash (right out of the page), so it sits somewhere in the middle. A weird blend of darkness and campyness. Sometimes it kinda works (Dollmaker) and others it doesn't (Fish Mooney).

I was, too, but, in all honesty, I feel like it was at its worst when it tried to be the gritty, procedural we wanted it to be. I would've infinitely preferred "Gotham Central: The Series," but it is what it is, and I've learned to appreciate it in all its campy glory. The last thing I want is to go back to those episodes where they had no idea what kind of show they wanted to make.

Oh yeah, absolutely. I much prefer this route than that mess. At least now they're taking it to a certain direction, and not trying to blend two completely different genres. I don't love it, but as I said, it's a good way to spend 45 minutes and relax during the night.

People will die..... I'm a man of my word....
