Halloween (October 19th, 2018)

PH for me is a really crappy movie.

I just watched it a few months ago trying to give it another chance and I had to shut it off lol

It's just as good as H1/Nightmare 1/F13 in its own regard.

People just don't like it because it came out after a lot of those more popular films came out. If it came out in the 1970's you'd all love it.

Just ask RIDDICK, that's one of few things he and I agree on.

the main idea is amazing, bring out a demon to take revenge on you. thats really great concept. but the movie takes forever to get going and takes forever for pumpkinhead to do anything

And then when the guy changes his mind about the revenge you kinda dont buy it.

Pumpkinhead is just a little slow and a little boring.

Pumpkinhead is not a flawless movie but neither are any of the other classics.

I find the original F13 a bit too cheesy and some of the acting really bad. Mariyl Burns in the original Chainsaw also annoys the hell out of me. I also can't stand Lynda in the original Halloween.

i dont hate pumpkinhead. I LOVE the cinematography and i love the warm orangy color palates they used for their shots. i love the story, i love the actors, i really love the performances.

Yeah same here, it's pacing is a bit slow at times. I just get sick of seeing people complain about that and then give another movie with the same problem a pass just because it's a more widely-accepted classic.

The Thing 1982 is definitely the better made movie, there's no question about it. I'd argue it's one of the best if not the best-made horror of all time... I just have a personal bias preference for Pumpkinhead as a movie.

Exorcist I haven't seen in a while.

Let’s start the real argument....The Thing is a Sci-Fi film.

Top 5 no particular order.

1. AWIL
2. The Exorcist
3. Dawn of the Dead.
4. Halloween
5. Jaws

The Thing isn’t on that list because it’s Sci-fi.....same for Alien.

I can honestly say that I never ever cared for any Halloween film.
The only thing I liked about them was Donald Pleasence.

The horror/scifi horror category is just too broad to break it down into just 5 best movies anyways it’s a near impossible task.

I mean how could anyone ever pick one of these over the other you just can’t. It’s like they’re all just tied for 1st place lol

Exorcist, Jaws, Alien, Aliens, Predator 1, The Thing (both), Halloween 1, F13th 1, War of the Worlds, Forbidden Planet, American Werewolf in London, Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead, The Omen, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1, Nightmare on Elm Street and there are tons more!

Impossible.

Ok fine if I had to pick just 1 horror movie above ALL others then I would go with The Exorcist.

Nothing has matched the sheer shock value of watching a prepubescent girl stabbing her genitals with a cross and shoving her mothers head into her genitals and telling her to lick her bleeding ****** or telling a priest that his mother sucks **** in hell lol.

I mean nothing has out classed that not even in todays desensitized society.

But that’s just specifically horror not scifi/horror or scifi/action.

My horror collection is huge there are just way toooooo many trashy horror movies that I adore and PH isn’t one of them lololol
