What the hell place does she have in the damn Saga at this point. To not attack what she hates and continue crashing into people she loves?
I really Like RO but it is not close to my all time favs.. BR 2049 is going to be just like the original for me. A film that I return to every 2 years and fully enjoy but never fully love.

Only one scene stands out in RO for me and I don't need to say which one because you already know what it is. The rest is forgettable just like those Disney pirate movies Chakor likes. 
BR 2049 is probably one of the best films I've seen in the last 5 to 10 years. It stands above as an intelligent blockbuster with a great script.

You know I would probably agree with that assessment of the first BR. But 2049 I definitely love.

Forgettable is being generous. I seriously thought it was agonizing and I wanted to shut it off after the first hour. I don't care how bad TLJ is, it's like going on several amusement park rides compared to RO.

Saying Pirates 1 and 2 are forgettable + praising Halloween 2018 + saying all of this with a Grace avatar = Caped's opinion is worthless

RO improved so much for me with repeat viewings. First time watching it I was like "This is it huh?" Then the Vader scene came and saved the movie for me.
Then watching it again it just all came together for me. Mostly because I already knew the characters and their fates and found myself so much more drawn to them. IMO they are the best SW characters outside of the OT. I cant remember any of their names but I really like them all. The last 20 mins is great and the battle on Jedha is one of my fav gun fights in the SW universe. Then there is the Vader scene which is a top 3 moment for sure.
Basically what I am saying is that it is nowhere near as forgettable as the Pirates movies that Chakor likes

I do think what Depp did for Pirate movies is what RDJ did for IM.
If I hear the word pirate mentioned I instantaneously think of Depp.
That’s really no small feat to accomplish.
Say “cowboy” and I think of Eastwood or John Wayne but pirate only Depp, sorry swashbuckling Errol Flyn lol

If you want to get caught up then now is a good time because they just gave Depp the boot. His days as Jack are kaput.
Luckily the Rotten Tomatoes "critics" will be able to have another field day of laughably hyperbolic negative reviews because Disney is planning a reboot.

Yep, JAWS is the man.
But no one top's jye's enthusiasm for a great theatrical experience.
ajp's SW commentary is first rate.
Junkion and karamazov are the funniest roasters around, even at the expense of film's I love, lol.
a-dev is as likable as I wish I was.
cerealkeller, rushmore, Wor-Gar, Prime Clone, Bravomite, Neal136, punisher1974, xipotec, and more. Just a great group right now.
I even miss SNIKT.
And a shout out to Snoop of course for holding down the fort.

Well it not like there was a ton of Pirate movies before POTC. I mean you were never gonna think Gena Davis or Matthew Modine
Errol Flynn is too far removed.
You could say that about POTC movies period. You think Pirate movies and that is what you think of because the competition is non existent.
I though the first one was highly overrated when I first saw it but a second viewing allowed me to be more accepting. I still think its overly long and a bit overrated but I can see the appeal
POTC 2 I really enjoyed. Great villain and monsters... IMO it captured the tone that the first film was going for much better.
But then came the 3rd which basically ruined the 2nd and 4 and 5 are pretty awful IMO.

Just don't go in overly hyped.
I went in expecting nothing great and was pleasantly surprised.

Quite the opposite. When it comes to sequels, I go in expecting trash....
Actually, lately, I expect all films to be trash....so I am often surprised.
Not to the level of BR2049, surprised, but often entertained and not disgusted.
