Glad to see Purnsley go. . . I never really understood why he joined up with Mr. White ( ) in the first place. That scene where they first met in jail really underscored their strong dislike for each other.

Entertaining episode tonight. Nice to see Van Alden come out of his shell. I hope Richard and Nucky have a bad *** partnership too. I still get the vibe that Chalky isn't gonna make it to season five. I hope he does!

Unfortunately I agree about Chalky not making it out alive this season. Though I do wonder what will happen to his daughter and her husband since they've been becoming more and more prominent on the show it seems. Without Chalky, I just don't see a reason to continue with their story lines. Perhaps they go out with Chalky.

So glad Richard is getting a new "job" from Nucky, and that Van Alden's going back to his roots and is done being a push over.

Another good episode.

I was wondering if Richard would team up with Chalky and help him take care of Narcisse since Nucky made that deal with him and sort of turned his back on Chalky. Though now I think Nucky is starting to realize that Narcisse will be a problem considering just how far he's pushing into Nucky's territory and the fact that he's taken Nucky's "hold" over the mayor.

Man, these next few episodes are really going to suck. I keep thinking Chalky is going to get taken out any second, but then he prevails through his badassery. So suspenseful.

I don't think Nucky had much of a choice but to make the deal. He clearly then tried to get Chalky out of town before anything happened to him. I only hope that Chalky doesn't turn on Nucky thinking he was in on the hit.

I predict that the Dr. Will somehow hurt or kill Chalky's daughter and then chalky will take out the Dr.

I am also assuming that Capones boss set up the hit on him. Capone will figure this out, kill his boss and be boss by end of season.

The most interesting story to me is Eli, his son and Nucky. Nucky will not be forgiving when finding out about Eli's involvement with the Feds. If he finds out I think Eli will be a goner.

Only 2 episodes left. But then the last season of Treme starts!

That's what made that scene so funny, the look Shannon gives him after he states he's happy the big boss got out alive before the shooting started. Derp Capone.

Yeah this is true, but I think him trying to get Chalky out of town with the mayor's assistance was as far as he was willing to go to help him. Chalky is losing the battle and Narcisse just keeps gaining more power. When push comes to shove, Nucky isn't going to choose the losing team. Even if it's his "friend"'s team, IMO.

I'm 99% sure Eli isn't making it out of this season alive. I just don't see any way he could, unless he (or someone else) ends up killing Nucky or something. But that isn't going to happen.

Perhaps that is why they've given Willy such development this season. So he can take over Eli's spot.

I think Eli should either...

A) kill the Fed

B) Come clean with Nucky... maybe don't tell him everything that was discussed... and then kill the Fed with Nucky's knowledge of what is going on. It appears that Eli hasn't given much info other than the truck run from Florida. The other big stuff that he told was about a dead dude...

It also helps that J. Edgar doesn't seem to care much about the Fed and his work which helps out Eli... but Eli doesn't know that obviously.

I am now wondering if they will keep the Dr. around for another season rather than killing him and introducing a new "villain" each season. Might be more interesting to keep it going for another year.

We also didn't see anything with Rob Livingston this week. There is obviously more to him than appears. On the phone last week he said "he was almost done and would be home soon"... hmmm...

Yea the Capone shootout felt like a setup.

I don't think Eli will follow through. The fed dies.

The ****** with a dictionary will be taken out by Chalky causing a war for Nucky in season 5, the final season.

Can't believe I'm writing this but I'm actually liking Margaret this season. Really enjoying watching her interactions with Rothstein.

The scene between Narcisse and Chalky's daughter was so tense, I breathed an actual sigh of relief when it was over. The entire episode was amazing from top to bottom.

I agree that the scenes between Margaret and Rothstein have been enjoyable, but that storyline almost feels like a courtesy to the actress more than a meaningful subplot. The actor that plays Rothstein is so charming in that role, I think he could have a scene with an empty chair and make it compelling.
