Yeah, but at least the Parkman African Adventure sub-plot with the guide/painter is moderately interesting. Suresh has nothing now. His only substantive contribution is that he's the show's obligatory Indian narrator.I was surprised by the lack of Suresh. I thought for sure they wedge him in there at the end. I guess Parkman was holding down the superfluos B plot this week.
That line wasn't put there as cheesy allegory. It was purposely re-used from the first pilot episode of the show in Season 1. Claire said the same exact line to her adopted mother when asked "Did you do anything interesting today?" and got a "That is so deep!" type response. They re-used the line to show the diametric differences between her relationship with her biological and birth mothers, because the response in this episode was the exact opposite. So cheesy line of the night:
Claire: I've already walked through fire and didn't get burned.
LAME! Ugh.
I thought this was the best all-around episode in a long time.
Major bonus: no Suresh/Maya.

I figured the trapped Peter storyline was going to last a little longer.
I hope they're going somewhere cool with Claire, but I have my doubts. Why would she think her trailer trash mom with a completely dissimilar power could teach her to fight?
And she takes the box of files - is she going public? Is Scar Pete going to have to kill the cheerleader to save the world?
Question: Why didn't Sylar just take off when he was out by Noah. He didn't seem the type of person to care about what his "mommy" (who he just met) wants him to be. Why not just a) kill noah and take off b) kill his "mommy" and noah, then take off c) just take off once they turned his sedation off.
And she takes the box of files - is she going public? Is Scar Pete going to have to kill the cheerleader to save the world?
Not to mention they're taking him to try and capture bad guys with strong powers. It's like a buffet for him.
I think Sylar is one of those bad guys who likes to play with his food before he eats it. So I figure it's like Nash says, he's just playing them because he thinks/knows he has the upper hand and can prevail at any time.
With regards to Claire, they seem to not really know what to do with her. They tried to make her character grow in the second season, but they seemed this season to really just start her at the same place as she was since the origin. One of the reasons why I really don't find her character interesting anymore, we've seen her cry and ^^^^^ that she can't be "normal" for two whole seasons.
