I'm with you there Dave. I like Parkman and Tracy too. I kinda thought the same thing about Molly but I didn't really pay attention to her.
I like Tracy as well. I just think it's the producers are being silly when it comes to Ali Larter. It's like they wanted to get rid of the Nikki/Jessica character but keep the same actress. Maybe there is something in her contract?

And as for Sylar's "hunger", that's nothing more than a lame plot device cooked up to keep him on the show. "Hmm, alot of people watch the show to see Sylar. Let's make him a good guy so we wont have to kill him off." How do you do that when he's a crazed murder? Make it not his fault by giving him a "hunger" that comes along with his abilities.

Lame.

Just kinda feels like the show is trying too hard, and in the process is falling apart. The only part I really enjoyed yesterday was Sylar going off the deep-end. Aside from that it was a bit of snoozer.

I'm still watching, but seemed this week was just a flat one for me.

Why did you kill Isaac just to have another paint the future guy come along?

The abilities are not unique to one person, certain people carry the traits needed to have certain abilities. There were always precogs out there, the real question is why they all seem to have to paint. That trait is not exclusive to the power in reality....of course arguing reality is moot point with a fictional show, but any way.

Why is Nathan trying to be President again.

Linderman always pushed for Nathan to be President to have a means to an end, whether or not Linderman is real it makes sense that Nathan would still internalize that mission when recontacting him. You also have to remember that his quest for the Presidency is always tragic as we find that Sylar was actually shapeshifting into Nathan in the future story and this time Peter kills him. Its more of a tragic end for his character no matter how he ends up.

Why did you kill Nikki and bring in another person that looks just like her?

Well that plot device makes sense as Niki, Tracy and Barbara are triplets that were experimented on. Whether it was thought ahead of the time or not really doesn't matter but the Tracy storyline now that I know she was a tinker toy for scientists became much more interesting.

Why are people able to see the future by eating some african crap?

They are playing off of old tribal rituals where it was believed that you take certain drugs and go on a spirit quest. When he broke free the African told him that it was just a dream indicating that he doesn't have the powers to see the future it was just a bad trip, its Matt to pushes the issue saying he knows it was a future vision. The African is an interesting Juxapose between modern society quoting Carl Yung, etc and old tradition. It creates for allusion and confusion because you never really know what he is being spiritual about and serious about.

Do they have to save the world every season?

While not explaining it correctly they are dealing with the Butterfly Effect further this season in the thought that one significant change done in the past does alter time but not completely but differently. What this means is that while the first visions had Peter blowing up Manhattan immediately, the next vision dealing with four years in the future had extermination camps for those with Abilities, Peter thought he stopped it when he stopped the Shanti Virus but in reality if you look at the connections he just changed it, altered the existing path because the world is still destined to "die" its just at the hands of those with abilities since it is common place now. Its still the same storyline just looking deeper at the ramifications of screwing with it.

Sylar and Peter are too powerful. Can we get rid of their powers already and give them just one?

I think its fine to have those powers they just need to really get a hold on them, Empathic Mimicry is a power we've seen in the comic world but usually the Hero is only able to use one power at a time, what we are seeing is them changing quickly from power to power which either indicates a mastery which we didn't see or sloppy writing because remember, Peter "died" in Act One and nearly took Nathan with him because he could fly at the same time as explode, now the powers are flowing freely....so either he was grown and mastered them or the writers are forgetting it. Sylar on the other hand is looking at his acquisition of powers as a curse because he can't resist, the more powers, the more tortured the being...his should be interesting to see how it plays out.

When Future Peter got shot, the haitian was there so he couldn't use his powers. I'm assuming the bullets went right through him, so when the haitian left, he would heal himself back up no? AND where was Sylar after he blew up Costa Verde. He had Claire's healing powers, so he should have survived.

Sylar probably survived but was probably in the epicenter of the blast. Just because he regenerates doesn't mean he is conscious as we saw with Peter in the second season. As for Future Peter being shot, according to Claire he was shot in the back of the head, the same area where Sylar probes for the ability. It deals with idea that all abilities function from one side of the brain and that if that side is damaged effectively you turn off the ability like a lightswitch. In reality it takes close combat to get to that spot normally or an unaware Peter who should have been using his Telepathic abilities to scan before landing made a stupid mistake and left it open. Think Highlander with the cutting the head off being the only way to kill them, so damaging that part of the brain which is harder or beheading them which would be easier would essentially stop the brain function and "kill" them. They just didn't explain it right. The Haitian in reality should have had nothing to do with Future Peter getting killed but more to do with 616 Peter being able to be tortured. I was really waiting for Claire to scar his face at that point and really explain how it was able to stick but the writers missed that point.

Speaking of which, I wonder who Sylar had a kid with, and what's he doing living in the Bennett's house? At first I thought it was him and Claire, until I remembered he may be her uncle.

Claire said that he took everything from her, I think the viewers were supposed to make the leap from Sylar's budding relationship with Noah to Claire leaving and going on her own as if Sylar became so close to Noah in four years that he was essentially like a son and so when Noah dies, he left everything to Sylar (this would mean somewhere to make sense the rest of the Bennet clan would have to bite it as well), he named his son Noah as a remembrance and Claire is short of the castaway because of her actions in the present. Remember that Claire is a mission that Noah grew to love but there is no blood relations to the Bennets so its still that adoptive motif playing out especially since Claire is calling Nathan "father" the betrayal may have worked both ways. We saw the beginning of this with Claire's real mother and her adoptive mother arguing with her in the middle leaning towards the biological side. Who Gabriel had the child with is still unknown but I have a feeling that it'll make itself told by the end of the season because I have a feeling there aren't done traveling back and forth through time.

Does anybody remember what happened to the girl that could mimic physical abilities just by seeing them. I think she was Micah's cousin or something? Did she die or what?

Monica is still in New Orleans, she was roughed up by the thugs and was limping out in the finale so she is probably still recovering at this point in time, it doesn't look there was much of a lapse between S2 ending and S3 beginnings, we probably haven't seen the last of her yet.

Why did Dark Claire leave 616 Peter alone so he could kill the President and teleport out?

By orders of her father which indicates that relationship must have strengthen for it to even matter. That was Nathan's faux pas because he was unaware that Peter had Sylar's power. What Peter did was succomb to Sylar's hunger and was tinkering around Nathan's head to see the real path of his intentions, line up the pattern like the gears of the watch, because he was using that power he gave in and killed him, neither Peter nor Nathan I think thought it'd end that way.

I like Parkman - I'm curious as to where they're going with him, and I like Tracy too - guess I'm in the minority on those characters. Little nit-pick - wouldn't 14 year old Molly look a lot different then her 10 year old self? I guess they did it so they wouldn't have to recast, but seemed pretty lame.

Parkman feels really forced on us at this point. It would have been interesting to keep him on a police force or working for the government hiding his abilities so we got sort of the extremes of both ends with the Company being the rogue and all but I feel like the writers are losing what to do with him. I don't understand the Daphne/Matt marriage in the future considering that the relationship between Hiro and Daphne seemed to be heading in that love/hate arena. As for Molly I agree, if time was at its spot she would look closer to 15 than anything else and should have been recasted.

Claire was right there as well, but seemed just fine... why wouldn't Sylar be?

...and did I miss something? Why is "current" Peter "616 Peter"???

Claire was there but she wasn't the blast, Sylar was. As we saw in Season 1/2, Peter's explosion that he couldn't control not only blasted him out of the sky but took him out for a bit. Not to mention if Sylar wasn't knocked out he was weakened because according to the power info we got from Ted Sprague in Season 1 it burns a lot of physical energy meaning he was weakened from the execution as much as the blast. He'd be in no immediate shape to follow.

Current Peter being nicknamed "616" Peter is an old joke referencing the Marvel Universe and its multiple timestreams and alternate dimensions, they refer to the heroes we have known since the 60s as from Universe 616. Its sort of like DC's Earth-1 and Earth-2, etc. No tie to the actual show.

Not sure how I feel about the Kingdom Come idea of everyone has powers in the future and will eventually result in the destruction of the world... but I'm liking this season so far

I'm thinking that will play itself out and be resolved by the end of Volume 3 (which ends at Episode 12).

I need to watch that episode again and pay closer attention. I missed a few minutes and that didn't help.

One thing I caught was that like Adam, Molly has the ability to not age as time passes.

So Heroes has done horribly in the ratings this season. It started at half of last year's premiere and last night's was the worst ratings ever.

This could be the final season of what NBC obviously thought was their answer to LOST. Here's hoping they shift the schedule around - Mondays are brutal anyway - I need a DVR with 4 tuners.

I'm really tired of all this future in trouble stuff.

I want to see some battles, ones that last more than 3 seconds.

Everyone changing sides sucks as well.

Those numbers are a tad deceptive though, because NBC as a whole is getting slaughtered all over the place. HEROES is still faring better than pretty much all of their other shows, and is still quite strong in the 18-34 year old demographic, where it got an 11 share on Monday (that's big).

I like the season so far. But I guess im not helping the ratings since I download the episodes when I have time to watch them. :lol

Unless you have a Nielson box, it really doesn't matter.

That's this guy right......

IMO Parkman keeps this show relatively grounded. Not every character should be like Peter or Hiro, running around like chickens with their heads cut off.

Still pretty interested in the show, but I'm into shows with long stories that aren't in a hurry for resolution. Why want something entertaining to end quickly?

Only thing I don't like is the constant reliance on "change the future".

I think thats a big part of it... I have 3 shows I always watch from that night, and honestly I usually try to only watch one so my brain doesn't turn into mush. The others I space out over the rest of the week :lol

Anyone see the spoiler commercial during the Sunday Night Football game? I kind of had some of that already figured out but it also ruined another angle of the upcoming episode.

Bunch of crap!

I am tired of those kinds of commercials or the previews that tell you not to miss the last few minutes of the upcoming show for the "surprise" twist ending or the "you won't believe what happens in the final minute..."...what good does it do it you know there is a twist coming???

I know the networks do it to try increase ratings but way to ruin things for people that want to be somewhat surprised and learn things through the storytelling.
