I loved Devito for the film but saying that I've loved his acting/comedy since Taxi. I also loved his ranting in the car hijack scene and those tilted looks he gives.
Don't adjust your sets. Welcome to the Oswald Cobblepot school of driving. Gentlemen, start your screaming!
"Franklyy...I feel thats a bum rap. I'm a businessman. Tough, yes. Shrewd, OK..but that does not make me a villain"
I thought the Penguin's death scene was touching and sad from the moment he rises out of the water to the moment where those emperor Penguin pole bearers "bury" him. With Elfman's music and the visuals you almost feel sorry for this pathetic thing, until you remember he tried to off innocent kids.
Is it silly and fantastical? Yes, but I don't think it makes it dull or ridiculously stupid. The Penguin's story concludes just like when he arrives onto the scene, an outcast abandoned by society. A popular misconception was that he was raised by Penguin's, he wasn't. He grew up with the circus gang and was part of a freak show.
Not really, unless you count Selina, who already knew who he was. He was trying to open up to her. I guess Shrek was there too, but he ended up dying.
Also, again? He doesn't reveal squat in '89. That's Batman Forever and Batman Begins where he's telling chicks who he is.
She fell into a construction truck that had sand in it. She was being humorous and ironic about it, it wasn't literally cat litter.
Agree with every word.
We'll see if Nolan's Catwoman has a better characterization (doubtful so far unless people want a liberal lefty, "give to da poor", occupy 99% Catwoman) but in the visual/character design department the Returns Catwoman is a thousand times better.
Yes the appearance of the '92 Catwoman will always be better, but I don't get why you keep hating on Nolan's Cat.
Tweaking her from a common thief to a modern-day Robin Hood fighting for the 99% couldn't be more relevant today. And it's really a timeless theme. I kinda see how maybe a 'down-the-line-republican-pro-1%-capitalist' might find it off-putting (don't know if that describes you or not) but even then I don't really get why you would have a problem with it. She's not the hero. She's a villain. I don't get the impression that Nolan will be using her character to sympathize with her cause.
Those that agree with her can enjoy that aspect of the film and those that don't can enjoy watching top 1%'er Bruce Wayne beat her. Win/win.
