I don't understand why that's not an acceptable response. The only reason it's not is because the torch bearers want to find some teemu-ish conspiracy where there is none. It's not common for HT to release edition sizes anyway.
People aren't looking for some conspiracy, there is just a massive difference between Sideshow getting 200 vs. 500 and that would help answer the #1 question being asked.

I do agree that if Hot Toys requested them not to release that information, they should honor that and some of the issues may be due to issues between Sideshow and Hot Toys. I have been ordering from Sideshow for roughly 5-6 years now and I have never seen a preorder this messed up with no real resolution (not counting the crazy limited, nonannounced exclusives).

I'd be happy if they made more but with slight differences, so as to keep the exclusive "exclusive". But i have my doubts as to whether they'd actually do that. I'd imagine that anyone who's got one would rather they not make more, as it probably makes it more special to them. Well, the ones that actually bought it to keep and not to rip people off. But it would be great if hot toys would see the desire for Guardian and make some more, in one form or another. I would however be put off ordering from Sideshow as the only time i've tried to order from them their site messed up, and after i emailed them about it they've so far ignored me.

ATM, that 200 vs. 500 is purely speculation on the part of Freaks though. It could very well be less.

Ex PZ PF, and the second SSE Universal dio. Both were announced, Both PO's were total cluster ____s and both were 100% Sideshow's fault.

I'm wondering if the hype for this guy would be just as big if he were just another "Lost Pred" release:dunno

I'm wondering if it'd be just as big if he were not a limited edition con Ex. Likely most would be, "easy pass" like they did with The Lost. :lol

Maybe not quite as much hype but i reckon there'd still be a lot of excitement. Of all the Lost Preds he seemed to be the most popular design amongst fans.

And thats an attitude (of those people, not you Russell) that I just can't understand. I don't give a flying ____ about rarity, as long as its a figure I think is cool and that I'm glad to have I don't care if everyone and his aunty also has that figure. This annoys me. Perhaps fair enough for those who paid a fortune for Cpl.Hicks on ebay, it'd be very stomach churning if that figure were rereleased to the masses at normal prices now so long after its original release, but Guardian isn't even out yet and anyone paying $999 for it now deserves to be royally ripped off for being stupid enough to reward those scalpers. More Guardians should be made for this demand and let Hot Toys and Sideshow be the ones making the money.

This is very true...my wife and I both were trying to place this and nada.

I don't know about the Universal dio, but yeah, PZ sucked bad (I got one!). HOWEVER, PZ EX is different because Sideshow also released a regular edition AND a silly "International Edition." They also didn't send out reminder letters for PZ nor setup two preorders.

Sorry man, I didn't get one and I am pissed about that, but I disagree...limited edition should mean just that. Make it limited and don't make them just because you can. True limited products are what separate Sideshow/Hot Toys from Kenner, Hasbro, Mattel.

Damnit, I was wanting to save my 2,000 post for the release of the Cyclops PF. Now I am pissed off and I am going to go shoot someone on Lost Planet 2.

Exactly my thoughts man. I could have easily bought other hot toys figures when they came out just to sell on later at a profit but i have no interest in it. I'd rather leave them for the people that actually want them. Its a shame there are people that buy these things to rip people off, and there are even people on this board that have clearly done it, but i guess as long as there are people willing to pay these prices and encourage them then it'll carry on. I'm sure they'd still be up for crazy prices anyway but if no one was interested in paying those prices then eventually it'd surely come down.

Like u said, hopefully Hot Toys will make more purely to spite the scalpers. Haha.

Not so sure about that. The fact that this predator is as limited as he appears to be has created a substantial amount of hype over the Predator line overall and will likely see people jumping to purchase the Predators line when that's finally announced in the fear of missing out. And in the end, for every customer throwing a tempertantrum about it, there'll be 3 more to take his place and order one. So by that, not only have they generated more interest by not over-saturating the market with a release, but will be generating more income as well. Think about it. As much as it sucks, it's perfect advertising.

The prizes for this predaror are ridicously insane..I have seen the figure on E-bay for 600 to 750$ !!! :cuckoo: (and of course, preorder)

This is a limited figure 500 + 500 pcs (1000 in total) The funny thing is that: ALL HT FIGURES ARE LIMITED, yes, but we do,nt know the exact number of pcs of each figure and I.m pretty sure much of them have been more limited than this Guardian Predator.... :gah:

Just remember; The first HT Batman Begins figure was limited to 800 pcs and exclusively sold only in HongKong (I purchase 1 on E- bay for 129$)
The T600 concept version was limited to 300pcs...and again, I purchased 1 of them for 220$ (.. and not was preorder)

Why the guardian predator is so expensive?? :dunno

:monkey2:monkey2:monkey2 i couldnt preorder cuz i was having trouble with my internet connection. no matter as sucky as Predators might be i´ll probably be getting the hot toys figs........maybe.

Where are you getting that information?

I don't see HT producing more of this particular Pred. Why should they? The deal was pretty clear from the start: this release would be a very limited one. Implication: some people would miss out. HT announced an edition size - perhaps not a completely comprehensible one, but still. Changing that now would only upset all those people that trust HT's statements regarding the limitation of this release. Personally, I think there are already enough people upset around here.

Some WL's will convert, there'll be more preds from HT in the future, this SDCC thing will cool down and eventually become history. Just try to avoid Ebay for a while. Prices will drop there too. :duff

What information?? :dunno

If you mean the HT batman Begins figure: Has a certificate inside the box (mine is 691 of 800)
If you mean HT T600 Concept version: I read on this forum.. and the ebay/ seller advertisement said the same thing (Not sure but I think was sold only in the Anicom fair ??)

Hottoys is a LIMITED company, they always release a limited number of figures and they never launch a restock. - This is what they replied when I asked about a possible restock for the original predator 2 figure last year.. :monkey2

Perhaps, due to the ULTRAFAST sales success of this predator guardian ,they could reconsider their policy :lol

Well, it isn't looking for for me. The other board member who contacted me last Friday and offered me theirs (for over double retail) hasn't contacted me since Saturday morning or replied to any of my PMs even though he has been on alot every day. :monkey2

This is really disappointing, especially considering he has been on the boards for a long time and has alot of feedback. Hopefully it is just a miscommunication and he will come through with his offer, but it isn't looking good for me. :dunno

All I can say is that everytime I have offered my EX preorders up to other board members I have kept my word even when I could make more money selling it somewhere else.

If he stands you up, you got to tell us who stiffed you.

I hate in when sore losers starting giving out their opinion on the ethics of flipping collectible man-dolls.

Yes, and bump the rest of their fans against the head, right? :lol It's like someone here said: HT is not Mattel, Hasbro and the like.

how does that hurt any fans?
and HT isn't different from Hasbro because of limited products. Hasbro has had way more limited editions than HT has.
what sets HT apart from them is the quality of their products, not the quantity.
