:snake______

I got that comic and that silver Tony Stark.

As for Hot Toys, if I can't get my hand on a MK IV or MK VI, I hope they'll at least do one from Avengers. Just didn't have the green when they were first offered and I really don't like the MK V either.

I think you mean…

Stealth or Hydro

Phil Saunders is an AMAZING conceptual designer. He did a lot of the work on Tron2 and the design of War Machine his actual look was heavily based on. I imagine they didn't bring him on for IM2 because he was working on Tron2.

His original War Machine concept:

Hmm cool I've never seen those concept pics. Pretty cool stuff. Never really been a huge Iron man fan, has there been a hydro suit in the comics before?

Yes, Saunders does nice work. I've got the IM1 art book. And obviously we're not getting Layton comic versions in the upcoming films.

Just pointing out that there are dozens of versions of Tony's armor out there, and several classic specialty suits . . . :monkey1

And I doubt we'll see multiples of his suit in The Avengers, since he's sharing screen time with five or six other major characters.

By the time of Shane Black's Iron Man 3, however, I reckon the floodgates will be opened.

Nuff said.

has there been a hydro suit in the comics before?

Um, scroll back a whopping two posts?

______

Well if you've seen the post-Cap footage then you'd see the two IM suits and the two different looks for Thor. Thor with and without arm armor, the rest of the suit may be different as well but it's hard to tell. Iron Man in the suit we have seen as well as something with a Triangular chest RT.

Yeah, it looks like Marks 7 & 8 at least.

I doubt they'll be enough screen time for much more, but maybe Marvel will surprise us.

My current (probably insane) theory is that the round RT suit we've seen in promo images isn't Tony. It's a shield agent maybe, but not Tony and that they end up needing Tony to be Iron Man later in the movie.

For me it jives with both the end of Iron Man 2 and the simple fact that it's a round RT. Sure, the new chest piece Tony has is actually round and the RT doesn't need to be triangular but it seems to me that it's weird they'd go back. Particularly because you see a triangular RT in that footage as well.

I'm probably wrong though.

Phil Saunders though does confirm on his blog that it's the Mark VII and that he designed it. So maybe it is Tony.

That theory's not insane. Makes a lot of sense in the context of IM2 (as you said).

Tony has said "I am Iron Man. The suit and I are one."

Which Fury mocks him for later at the donut shop . . .

Maybe they go back to a round chest RT because it's Shellhead's most iconic look . . . time will tell.

Regardless, very psyched for Avengers. I have a lot of faith in Joss and the simple fact that it's a bunch of characters we have already seen in other movies coming together is awesome.

Has anyone had problems with the batteries leaking on any of
there Iron Man Figures- I was wondering about my Mark III's?

Thanks

Got my mark VI today , what a nice figure , much better then i tought it would be! :yess:

Interesting concepts here esp. the Stealth Suit! Hope Saunders will be in for IM3! :)

He says on his blog he designed the Mark 7, so he at least did that design and I'm liking the Mark 7 design. Uses a lot of sliced off planes, something you see a lot in his concept work for the films but not so much in anything that made it to screen yet. Like the thighs and shoulders on the hyrdosuit are a good example of that.

This painting isn't by him, but the main suit pictured is the Mark 7 and is his design.
