If you still dont hav the full RDJ scuplt then get the IV
I have none of the Iron Man stuff yet. But in all honesty, I'm not after the full RDJ sculpt. I actually prefer the full helmet/ RDJ sculpt in the helmet. Dunno why. Maybe because I want him to look ready for battle.
So it's more about the circular arc IV vs. battle damage VI and the hall of armor LED stand IV vs. helmet RDJ VI. 2:2 tie

I went through the very same dilemma last week - I chose the Mark IV for two reasons: 1, the circle reactor (don't like the triangle) and 2, it seems a little rarer since the re-release of the Mark VI as the Avengers version. Those who want a Mark IV now have to buy the gantry thing (which is super duper spensive!) and making the orginal release harder to find. Plus I think the silver parts / battle damaged partsof the Mark VI are quite toy like - but that's just me. Ok that was more than two reasons. Here's mine:

Hm. I like both the circular reactor and the BD VI (especially the chest piece, the left arm and the mask). It's soooooo hard to make a decision
Price-wise it's not much difference. I'll have to pay at least €300 either way + customs (+shipping fee) - living in Europe sucks when looking for affordable Hot Toys figures. I'm looking for them on ebay, since they're pretty much sold out everywhere else.
I've seen the gantry thing too. It's around €400-450. Def. not gonna buy that. Sheer robbery.

Then get the VI! The hall of armor LED stand quickly lost its appeal after i got it
Id never part with my Mark IV. Just purchased the Avengers MKVI and Im already having second thoughts. Wanted it mainly for the triangle reactor because I liked both looks. As for the BD I think its cool but I like my MK's clean. Never really been a fan of the gray used on MKVI also. Will have to wait till Tuesday to compare them both first hand. Another option you might look at is the MKVII. Has the circular chest reactor,but its a little beefier. Both are great figures though,had a hard time choosing between the two back when they came out.

Phew. So many different opinions 
My dice told me to get the Mk XVIII :/ Not very helpful. I guess I'll just wait these auctions on ebay and see what gives. In case I get the VI, I can still buy the LED base, but does the Mk VI head fit on the Mk IV? The BD faceplate is so awesome, I want it.

Okay. The choice has been made. I just won an ebay auction for the Mk IV. Now, does the RDJ-helmet-sculpt of the Mk VI fit the Mk. IV? Cause if it does, I think I'll get that + the BD face plate for it

Yes, the head are swappable

Thank you for the answer. Now this is both good and bad news. Good news I can buy and use the head+mask, bad news I have to spend more money T_T. 100% broke.

Too bad the chest pieces arent swappable between the MKIV and MKVI. I would of saved $200 last week.

Isn't it a safe bet that Hot Toys is gonna do a Mark VII pretty soon? I'm not sure if it's been confirmed but I can't see them passing up an opportunity to sell us what would essentially be a slightly beefier looking Mark IV.

Gonna be my first Hot Toys figure. As soon as I got the money, I'm afraid I'll be broke again -> Batman. Sigh.
