I can see DX releases moving up a lot in price soon

When the Avengers 2 come out, we will look back at how inexpensive slap) the figures from the 1st movie were.

Prices are only creeping up becuase ******* bandwagoners kep paying. Ht is going to burst their bubble pretty soon if the price creep dosn't stop.

Regardless how bad the economy is, these are not 300$ figures.

After avengers, I've already stopped buying. Skipping sayian warrior tony stark. Too damned expensive.

Skipping wolverine.
Already dropped all dc figures.

The price creep will never stop. It's inevitable. Regardless of sales. If you want these figures you've got to pay or wait for a deal. This hobby will never come down in price and never will there be figures at the same price we used to pay. That's inflation. Can't fight it. All you can do is quit. Problem is not everyone will quit buying. It's a vicious circle.

I am happy with what i have and do not need anymore figures but I will still buy. It will just be a lot less ( I keep telling myself that anyway).

But I think the point is that the price is creeping to a level where the average joes are going to be out soon. Once you start losing people or forcing them to make more choices, lines tend to do worse. For example, when HT figures were at $150 and SSC PFs were at $300 the choice was fairly clear. Now that HT figures are $200+ and SSC PFs are still mostly in the $300 range the choice becomes more difficult. It's fine to raise prices, but you have to be careful when you cross another collectibles threshold.

I mean, I was huge into Hasbro SW figures when they were $5. Once they creeped up to $10, I started to get into SSC SW figures which were barely reaching $100 at the time. At that point, I had to change my priorities and dropped out of Hasbro. Right now I can't see myself buying too many HT figures in the $225-250 range, because I might as well save up another $50 and go all out on a PF.

Trust me I hear your points and believe me I wish they would go back to those prices but I know the reality of this hobby and embrace it. Unfortunately there are a lot more collectors who don't care about price than there are average joes who won't be able to afford these new price points. So its either get what you want or get out of the game. I know its a bit harsh but blaming people who buy figures isn't the solution either. Just saying.

I'm so torn on this. 200 on a figure I don't really love, or having an incomplete Avengers team. Damn.

Same dilemma, I opted out. In the end, it's just not worth it.
I've shown the final product pics to friends who appreciated my Hot Toys collection.
They told me I'm better off buying a barbie doll or a hasbro fig than this.

Hoping for a BW from Cap 2 with sculpted hair.

I'd rather spend that kind of money on something poseable rather than a statue.
I can't bring myself to start collecting pf's since i would then be broke all the time buying all the ones i'd have to have for my collection

I'm buying the 1/4 scale endoskeleton in april and that is going to break
my wallet as it is and hot toys will probably make other stuff in 1/4 scale
i have to have. This year is going to be the most money i've spent on
collectibles in my entire life,1800 total

I'm already contemplating on selling my EX Joker once it arrives.
I'm starting to feel guilty having all of these expensive stuff.

Me too. I never liked the statues only because they are just that. Statues. Not going for quarter scale though. It took a lot just to get me from 4 inch Star Wars to 1/6 scale but once the cherry was broke the flood gates opened.

Between last year and this year ill have spent about the same for avengers and dark knight line. Not to mention the mortgage payment I just spent this month to play catch up on bounty hunters and holes in my collection. I haven't broken the bank yet but I probably could have paid off my car already with what I've spent in the last 3 years of 1/6 collecting. That's just depressing when I think about it.
