I took a pic to compare the old and new colors. Yeah I like the old robocop's color but that repaint is much better.
Looks great. Just wondering how you will approach the die cast parts. will the Tamiya paints work?
I picked mine up yesterday. I was impressed from the moment I took the box out of the shipper.
The outer box is gorgeous and when I pulled open the styro lid... Robo just looked stunning.
No issues with this what so ever. A beautiful figure all round, and now facing off against the Terminator!!!
Cool showcase video by Dean Knight
You already have the semi-BD figure with the helmet... Helmet for this version wouldn't even be accurate to the film (unless you want one at his feet, but then you can use the semi-BD helmet from the reg release). The whole draw of this figure is the Peter Weller sculpt. For my money, anyway, both are necessary.Glad to hear/read it. Have you ordered anything else Robocop wise? I'm pondering as to whether I want the battle damage figure, if it had a helmet option I'd be sold on it..., unhelmeted not so keen. :/
This is supposedly going to turn up at my retailer of choice next month, only decided to commit to purchasing it today though, been pondering for months & then forgot about it for a bit, checked last week & I was surprised it hadn't sold out but still I was in ponder mode, watched a few reviews on YouTube today & sold. lol
Sure shows how key lighting can be with this figure. When I finally display it, I'm going to be sure to put in a lot of time, there. Like the blue/red 'police' lights they were using on him, too.
I'll try and take a couple of pics tomorrow, but once you get this thing in the top shelf of a detolf and the black reflects off the armour, it starts to look much more film-accurate. Not going to pretend it's perfect, it is somewhat too silver under direct light and against a pale neutral backdrop, but it's not as bad as a lot of the photos would lead you to believe.
Overall it's a fantastic figure and I'm glad I was able to get hold of one.

Hell no buddy!!! BBTS will replace it
I recently bought the original trilogy again but on Blu ray this time, when new technology comes along I like to see if they can improve..., I think Robocop 2 benefited from the transfer but the original looked a little grainy in places (the news room scenes), don't regret my purchase though & it'll be nice to have a figure now too as well as the movies..., I'm toying with the idea of buying a new Robocop figure now so I have examples of both, not sure yet though.
I believe that set has the old transfer because the new transfer is freaking awesome.
This is what you need

I finally got round to taking a picture of this figure in a detolf. No flash, no direct lighting. Apologies for the graininess, I'm working with a terrible camera that doesn't have a decent range of ISO/shutter speed settings. Still, I feel this is a good representation of what the figure looks like on display.
