Thanks guys! Two other quick things. I know the ankles rotate up and down but do they rotate side to side? Also, in the instructions it states that you can extend the torso at 2 points to get maximum rotation. My figure only extends at one point. If I pull it any harder I think it might break. Thanks!

Yes, the ankles will tilt sideways. The pistons are on ball joints at both ends, and so is the foot. It's just stiff. Move it slowly and carefully.

And yes, it will extend in two places - but it takes some serious force to unlock the mechanism the first time you try it. I'd recommend removing anything fragile like the hands and chestplate, outstretch the arms and grab onto the figure under the shoulders and at the groin either with soft cloths or surgical gloves, then pull until it clicks apart.

OK cool thanks man. Why the surgical gloves if you dont mind me asking?

Maaan I havent checked on this thread in awhile, Im scared to look at the rubber on my Robo, Ive changed his poses a few times and always have had both arms bent. Im afraid to look. But I think I wont really worry about it, have to much fun moving him around.

Thanks to Username tipping me off, I've now got a replacement arm on the way from Hong Kong. Only cost me $52 :ohbfrank:

Currently considering Shin-Etsu grease to treat the figure with, that'll be another £20 or so. For a mere £54, I will be able to make my brand-new £200 figure as it should have been all along.

**** you, Hot Toys. **** you.

Heat the joints up a bit with a hair dryer if they are locked. Don't force them or there will be tears.

If you have a missus or 1/6th figures you should have a hair dryer. :lol

(the two may or may not be mutually exclusive)

Well, I definitely have a love-hate thing going on with this figure! I absolutely hate the plastic thighs, especially on the right holster side that feel very fragile. And the left arm on mine is very loose like the ball is slightly too small for the socket!

But on display standing there, it certainly look beautiful!

I only recently preordered one, was quite happy about it from the review videos but all this negative stuff of late has me a bit concerned, the rubber arm sections are the most concerning though..., I won't be cancelling my figure as I'm hoping for the best but I'm still less than totally happy. :(

At least it isn't like Snake Plissken that thing has more problems then anyone could have ever wanted. The arm problem on Robocop is only one case if I'm not mistaken? Has anyone else reported problems? Someone mentioned the thighs, when opening the gun holster I was afraid I was going to break it cause it didn't want to crack open right away.

Got my Mechanical Chair version in today. Scored it for $310 so I couldn't be happier with it. The color and plastic holster is the only disappointing aspect of it all. As kool mentioned above, the entire holster area feels extremely flimsy. An impressive figure though and I really hope they get around to doing Robocain. Really need a villain to go along with this guy.

middle pick is very good, reflection of the middle portion of his helmet reminds me of a movie scene

Some **** gore for you all:

Pretty interesting getting to tear this thing down to apply the Shin-Etsu grease to the rubber sections (apart from the heart-in-mouth terror of performing surgery on a pricey collectible). turns out the inner cuff is skinned with rubber too. Also the shoulder joint is wrapped in a thin sheet of rubber - the joint inside that sleeve is a ball joint connecting into the arm on a vertical swivel, so if you're not happy about where the shoulders sit it can be adjusted quite easily. Joint is extremely tight though.

This, I have no idea as to whether it's rubber or vinyl. The gloss finish might actually be a paint operation, on closer examination.

These parts on the side also appear to be rubber - quite soft rubber. Shin-Etsu'd them too just to be on the safe side.

"This unit needs millions of dollars in parts - you see, Robocop's... off-warranty."

IMG_3357.jpg

"I thought we agreed on total body prostheses - now lose the arm."

IMG_3358.JPG

Relatively painless process. Used a small sable brush to work the grease into the hard-to-reach areas, cleaned down any excess and run-off with a microfiber cloth. One problem I've noticed is that the rubber on this figure is a dust and fluff magnet. I dusted all the rubber carefully with a large, flat-edged sable brush before getting to work and ended up doing the same again to get some particles and fibres out of the grease at the end.

One final thing I would otherwise never have noticed - they managed to leave an entire screw out of the 'good' arm. Nice work, Hot Toys. A quality product.

Thanks for posting. That missing screw would drive me crazy. I would have already put the other in a baggie and headed to Home Depot to find the EXACT screw. Otherwise, there would be no sleep.
