On a side note, I wasn't too fond of the OCP Police helmet design in this movie.
That had actually never bothered me until you pointed it out. The Robocop 1 versions looked way more hi-tech.
Considering the not-so-subtle OCP=Nazis imagery in this film, I'm surprised they didn't make them look like futuristic German coal-scuttle helmets
He's only that noticeably blue in 2, though. 1 and 3 he's more a gunmetal grey on-screen, with blue, green and purple accents.
Yeah R1 OCP had the best look. Incidentally, the basis for those helmets were the same helmets that they used in the original TRON.
It was a Cooper Hockey Helmet.
I agree that the repaint isn't screen accurate, I just think it's more accurate vs the ht version we got, which looks silver with a couple of hues in it
Don't remember anytime in robocop where he's a shiny silver
That's what I love about old films, they'd take something completely innocuous and make it into a badass-looking prop by sticking things to it and painting it
I honestly don't think it looks too bad if you get it in the right lighting conditions. Here's mine in the top shelf of a detolf with just regular ambient light.

Exactly! Great pics man!

It can look fantastic under the right lights, but during the times the lighting isn't right, it takes on a shiny silver look that detracts from the figure

Nice pose!

I'm with ya, I wish he was a dead on accurate color too. Even what was shown in the protos would've been good enough but like you said, it's pointless to beat the horse. He's definitely too vibrant and it's worse in brightly lit areas. Although he's not as iridescent as we'd like, as most others have already said, at least he does show some of those hues in certain conditions.
Aside from that I don't have much to complain about this guy. I'm very happy to have him imperfect then not at all, and he has tons of positives to make up for the paint job. Overall just lovin' this piece. I even like the chair a hell of a lot more than I thought I would. I thought it was cool when I had it displayed aside of him, but now I think it's an awesome option. Finally set him up in it and I'm really feeling it.
I left him limp-armed overnight and the creases in the rubber went back to normal. No issues with deterioration so far
My super shiny super cop
Now that's a SICK repaint!!! Spot on pt. 2
